Role Introduction Joining as our first dedicated finance hire, you will take full ownership of the company’s financial operations across multiple entities (UK parent company, Indian and South African subsidiaries, and future entities). You will work very closely with our founder, Andrew Browning, to build and scale a finance function that is accurate, efficient, and designed to scale. This is not a traditional finance role. Alongside running core finance operations, you will be responsible for designing systems, automations, and processes that eliminate manual work and enable the business to scale without adding unnecessary headcount. You will act as both a finance lead and a general operator, taking ownership of problems across the business and driving them to resolution. With this wide scope of responsibilities, you will gain deep exposure to how a global, multi-entity business is built and scaled from an early stage. Responsibilities - What you’ll be doing: Financial Operations Own accounts receivable end-to-end, including invoice creation, accuracy, and payment collection Manage accounts payable, including approval and processing of payments Oversee and approve payroll across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with invoicing Ensure all tax filings and statutory payments are completed accurately and on time Maintain accurate financial records and ensure clean, auditable data across all entities Maintain alignment between intercompany accounts across all entities Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of intercompany transactions Support the development of a clean, scalable multi-entity financial structure Accountant & Partner Management Coordinate and manage external accountants across the UK, India, and South Africa Standardise reporting outputs, timelines, and data formats across all entities Act as the single point of ownership for all finance-related external relationships Ensure accountability and performance from all external partners Financial Reporting & Forecasting Build and maintain clear, accurate monthly reporting Track and report on key metrics, including gross vs net revenue, margins, and cash position Develop and maintain financial forecasts, including cash flow and hiring impact Support decision-making through clear, actionable financial insights Systems, Automation & Product Development Lead the design and implementation of finance systems and automations that enable the business to scale efficiently without adding unnecessary headcount Lead the documentation of finance and operational processes, creating SOPs Integrate our platform with Xero to automate invoicing and reduce manual work Design and implement automated workflows for payroll, invoicing, and financial data capture Define and maintain a single source of truth across systems Work closely with the product team to design and build new features within our platform that support finance operations Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency through tooling and automation Broader Operations Take ownership of operational problems beyond finance and drive them to resolution Improve internal processes across the business Support vendor selection, tooling decisions, and operational scaling efforts Requirements - What you’ll need to succeed: Be a systems thinker and creative problem solver Very strong intrinsic desire and ability to drive continual process improvement Highly resourceful Very strong sense of urgency Strong organisational skills Deep sense of caring toward your work and the people you do it with Eagerness to collaborate with others with an orientation for team success over individual Fluent level of written and verbal English Highly detail-oriented Strong operational mindset with the ability to own and solve problems end-to-end Ability to design, build, and improve systems and processes Strong understanding of finance operations (accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, reporting) Comfort working across multiple entities and jurisdictions Minimum 4 years experience in finance Experience implementing significant automation and systems within the finance function Minimum 2 years experience in a startup or high-growth environment Experience working with international businesses or multi-entity structures (preferred) Experience with tools such as Xero or similar accounting systems (preferred) Pay & Bonuses - What you’ll get in return: Gross annual salary - India: 12 – 18 LPA Company laptop provided 15 days annual leave + public holidays Opportunity to grow with a fast-scaling business Be part of a fun, dynamic team and work environment Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 UK ( 13:30 - 22:30 IST) Development & Progression Progress to Head of Finance within 18–24 months depending on performance (tied to key performance indicators) Progress to Director / CFO-level role as the business scales, depending on performance Work with the founder to define and achieve your own progression goals and targets
