3. Job Role: Electrical Design Team Leader 1. Core Responsibilities System Design Design LT and HT electrical distribution systems for buildings or industrial projects. Calculate and size transformers, DG sets, UPS, panels, cables, bus ducts, and switchgear. Design lighting systems (indoor, outdoor, façade, emergency, escape lighting). Develop earthing, bonding, and lightning protection systems. Prepare load schedules, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and riser diagrams. Technical Calculations Load calculations based on diversity, demand factors, and equipment ratings. Short-circuit, voltage drop, and fault-level calculations. Cable sizing based on current carrying capacity, temp correction factors, and installation methods. DG synchronization and UPS autonomy calculations. Energy demand estimation and power factor considerations. Documentation & Drawings Prepare electrical DBR (Design Basis Report). Develop detailed electrical layouts—lighting, power, cable tray routing. Generate BOQs, technical specifications, and tender deliverables. Review vendor/shop drawings and ensure compliance with design. Coordination & Execution Support Work with architects, HVAC, plumbing, IBMS, and fire teams for coordinated routing and system integration. Attend project coordination meetings and resolve technical queries. Conduct site inspections for electrical installations, cable laying, panel erection, earthing pits, and testing. Support commissioning of electrical systems and participate in functional testing. 2. Skills Required Technical Tools AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and electrical simulation tools (Etap, Dialux). Understanding of electrical codes and standards (IS, NBC, BIS, IEEE). Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of power distribution, switchgear components, protection schemes. Lighting design principles and Lux level calculations. Renewable integration (solar PV), battery systems, and energy storage (optional but valuable). Soft Skills Attention to detail and strong documentation skills. Coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Analytical and problem-solving approach. Clear communication with contractors and clients. 3.
