About SARC HospitalitySARC Hospitality LLP is a founder-led, multi-brand hospitality company headquartered in Pune. Founded by siblings Chaitanya and Aishwarya Adgaonkar, SARC operates three distinct brands across a single integrated address — and is actively scaling.• Centro — a 30-room design-forward boutique hotel built for the thoughtful modern traveller. Warm, precise, and quietly distinctive.• Chirp — a culture-forward café and restaurant with story-led, seasonally rotating menus, a strong community following, and an identity rooted in culinary adventure.• Bloom — a 2,500 sq ft rooftop garden event space above Centro, designed for celebrations, intimate experiences, and gatherings of all kinds. We are at an exciting inflection point — deepening operations, expanding the team, and laying the people infrastructure for the next phase of growth. This hire is central to that. The RoleThe HR Manager at SARC will be the first dedicated HR leader in the organisation. You will own the full people function — from recruitment and onboarding to payroll, compliance, engagement, and culture — across all three brands and ~60 employees. This is not a policy-maintenance role. You will be working directly with the founders to build people systems that are both rigorous and human — structured enough to scale, and warm enough to reflect who we are. You will need to be equally comfortable drafting a payroll process, mediating a team conflict, and helping write a job post that actually sounds like us.The ideal candidate has hospitality HR experience, thrives in fast-moving environments, and genuinely believes that a great team culture is a business asset — not an afterthought.Key Responsibilities1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition• Own the full-cycle hiring process across all three brands — sourcing, screening, scheduling, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding.• Work closely with department heads and founders to understand role requirements and build tailored job briefs that reflect brand voice and culture.• Maintain and grow a live talent pipeline for critical roles including Front Office, F&B, Kitchen, and operations support.• Ensure every new hire completes a structured orientation — role-specific, brand-aligned, and operationally grounded.• Build relationships with hospitality schools, placement cells, and staffing partners for ongoing talent access.2. Onboarding & Training• Design and manage onboarding frameworks that set new employees up to contribute quickly and feel genuinely welcomed.• Identify skill gaps and coordinate structured training programmes — both technical (SOP-based) and interpersonal (guest handling, communication, teamwork).• Work with brand leads to create brand-specific training content that communicates our values, standards, and guest experience philosophy.• Track training completion, gather feedback, and continuously improve programme effectiveness.3. Employee Relations & Culture• Be the primary point of contact for all employee concerns — accessible, empathetic, and consistent.• Mediate conflicts fairly and promptly; escalate to founders when required with context and a recommended path forward.• Champion a culture of open communication, psychological safety, and mutual respect across all departments.• Lead engagement initiatives — recognition programmes, town halls, team events, and surveys — that make SARC a place people want to grow in.• Provide structured guidance to department heads on people management best practices.4. Attendance, Leave & Workforce Planning• Manage daily attendance tracking using HR software; ensure accurate, real-time records across all three outlets.• Administer the leave management process — earned leave, sick leave, casual leave — in compliance with Shops & Establishments Act and company policy.• Proactively flag absenteeism trends and work with ops heads to ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.• Support shift planning and seasonal workforce adjustments, particularly around peak periods and events.5. Payroll Processing• Process monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees across brands, including wages, overtime, incentives, and deductions.• Ensure statutory compliance — PF, ESIC, PT, TDS — and coordinate with the finance team for reconciliation and remittances.• Maintain clean payroll records and generate monthly payroll reports for the founders and finance team.• Resolve payroll queries from employees promptly and with transparency.• Utilise Excel and HR software proficiently to maintain accuracy and streamline the payroll cycle.6. Performance Management• Design and implement a structured, fair, and motivating performance review process aligned to each brand's operational realities.• Work with department heads to set KPIs, run quarterly check-ins, and facilitate annual appraisals.• Identify high-potential employees and work with founders to develop retention and growth plans for them.• Build a culture where feedback is continuous, specific, and constructive — not just an annual event.7. Compliance & HR Systems• Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws: Shops & Establishments Act, PF & ESIC regulations, Minimum Wages Act, Sexual Harassment at Workplace (POSH) Act, and related rules.• Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential employee records — contracts, ID documents, offer letters, appraisals, and exit documentation.• Conduct regular HR audits and flag gaps to founders proactively.• Build and maintain HR SOPs, policies, and the employee handbook in a clear, accessible format.• Ensure POSH compliance, including committee constitution and awareness training.8. Exit Management• Manage the full exit process — resignation acceptance, handover planning, full & final settlement, and exit interviews.• Track and analyse attrition trends and share insights with founders on a quarterly basis.• Ensure all exits are handled with dignity, documentation, and legal compliance. What We're Looking ForMust-Have• 3–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a hospitality or F&B environment.• Hands-on experience managing payroll, compliance, and statutory filings (PF, ESIC, PT, TDS).• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, payroll reconciliation) and at least one HRMS tool.• Strong working knowledge of Indian labour law — Shops & Establishments Act, POSH, PF & ESIC regulations, Minimum Wages Act.• Proven ability to handle employee relations with empathy, discretion, and firmness.• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or equivalent.Strong Advantage• Experience working in a multi-brand or multi-outlet hospitality setup.• Prior exposure to building HR infrastructure from scratch or in a startup/early-stage environment.• Experience designing and conducting training programmes, especially for front-line hospitality staff.• PGDM or MBA in HRM from a recognised institution.Who You Are• You build trust quickly — with the team on the floor and the founders in the room.• You are highly organised but people-first; systems serve people, not the other way around.• You are calm under pressure and don't flinch when a difficult conversation is needed.• You are discreet with sensitive information and consistent in how you apply policy.• You have high attention to detail across data-heavy tasks (payroll, compliance, records) and interpersonal ones alike.• You are curious, self-driven, and genuinely invested in building something great — not just maintaining it.What We Offer• Competitive salary benchmarked to hospitality industry standards in Pune.• Direct access and visibility with the founders — your inputs will shape how we grow.• Autonomy to build the HR function the right way, from the ground up.• A team and culture that genuinely cares about people — this isn't a value on a wall, it's how we operate.• Employee benefits including dining privileges at Chirp• Clear growth trajectory as SARC expands — including potential new properties under evaluation.A Note on Working at SARCSARC is founder-run, fast-moving, and deeply invested in quality — across our food, our spaces, and our team. We move quickly, we question convention, and we hold ourselves to a high standard. This role will be demanding. You will be wearing multiple hats, solving problems that don't always have precedent, and working in an environment that values initiative over instruction. If that sounds like the environment where you do your best work — we want to hear from you.
