We are looking for a Business Development Manager who can identify, evaluate, and secure premium retail locations in key markets.This role will own the end-to-end process of store expansion—from scouting high-potential properties and building relationships with mall developers and landlords to negotiating commercial terms and coordinating internal approvals. The ideal candidate brings strong market knowledge, particularly in metro markets, and has a proven track record in retail leasing and deal negotiations.Key ResponsibilitiesRetail Expansion & Property IdentificationIdentify high-potential retail properties in metro marketsEvaluate locations based on footfall, catchment demographics, mall positioning, and brand fitMaintain strong relationships with mall developers, brokers, landlords, and leasing teamsContinuously track upcoming retail developments and expansion opportunitiesDeal Structuring & NegotiationLead negotiations with landlords and developers on commercial terms, rentals, lock-ins, and revenue share structuresReview and negotiate lease agreements and legal terms in coordination with internal legal teamsEnsure all deals are commercially optimized and aligned with expansion strategyMarket Intelligence & Strategic InputProvide insights on retail trends, competitor locations, and emerging high-potential micro-marketsConduct basic location feasibility analysis including footfall, catchment income levels, and competitive benchmarkingWork closely with leadership to prioritize expansion markets and opportunitiesCross-Functional CoordinationCoordinate internally with sales, finance, legal, and store design teams to execute store launches smoothlyTrack deal pipelines and maintain structured documentation of properties, negotiations, and status updatesDesired Skills & Qualifications6–10 years of experience in retail expansion, leasing, or business developmentStrong experience working with retail brands, malls, or commercial property developersProven track record in identifying and securing retail store locationsDeep familiarity with Bangalore and Hyderabad retail markets is highly preferredStrong negotiation and commercial deal-making skillsAbility to review and negotiate legal lease terms and commercial agreementsExcellent relationship-building skills with developers, brokers, and landlordsHighly proactive with a builder mindset suited for a fast-growing startup environment
