Role OverviewThe Senior Manager – Battery Swapping Warranty & Service Operations will own and drive end-to-end warranty governance, claims management, and preventive maintenance for battery packs (BP) and Quick Interchange Stations (QIS) across international markets. This role ensures strict adherence to company battery standards, warranty policies, safety protocols, and service quality benchmarks while minimizing downtime, financial loss, and operational risk.Key ResponsibilitiesBattery & QIS Warranty GovernanceOwn and enforce SUN Mobility’s battery pack and QIS warranty policies, service standards, and claim procedures across all international locations.Ensure all warranty cases are processed strictly as per defined eligibility, coverage rules, approval workflows, and documentation requirements.Act as the final operational authority for warranty-related decisions for damaged, failed, or abnormal battery packs and QIS equipment.Warranty Claims ManagementLead end-to-end warranty claim lifecycle for BP and QIS assets including fault validation, root cause classification, evidence collection, claim submission, OEM/vendor coordination, and closure.Decide and execute corrective actions for non-warranty cases (repair, refurbishment, scrapping, recovery, or cost allocation) as per company norms.Track warranty recoveries, rejected claims, turnaround time, and financial impact.Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, insurance partners, and internal finance teams for claim settlement and credit recovery.Service & Incident ManagementOversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for battery swapping stations and battery fleets to reduce failure rates and warranty exposure.Lead response for battery or QIS incidents such as thermal events, electrical faults, physical damage, water ingress, communication failures, or safety alarms.Ensure proper isolation, containment, investigation, and safe handling of damaged or suspected batteries as per safety SOPs.Ensure root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) are completed for all major incidents.Compliance & Process ControlEnsure strict compliance with battery handling standards, transportation norms, storage protocols, and regulatory safety requirements in all regions.Maintain centralized records for battery health, failure history, warranty status, repair actions, and lifecycle tracking.Continuously improve warranty workflows, documentation standards, and digital tracking systems.Stakeholder CoordinationCoordinate with internal teams (Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Insurance, and Service partners) for smooth execution of warranty and service processes.Represent the company in discussions with OEMs, battery suppliers, and certification agencies for technical validation and claim justification.Provide regular performance and risk reports to the VP – International Operations on warranty costs, trends, and system reliability.Skills & CompetenciesStrong expertise in battery swapping systems, lithium-ion battery technology, BMS, thermal management, and high-voltage safety.Deep understanding of warranty frameworks claims processing, supplier recovery models, and asset lifecycle management.Experience handling battery failure analysis, safety incidents, and field reliability engineering.Excellent documentation, audit, and compliance mindset.Ability to make firm operational decisions under safety and financial risk scenarios.Strong negotiation and coordination skills with OEMs and suppliers.Structured problem-solving and data-driven approach.QualificationsDiploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Automotive Engineering or related field.Minimum 5+ years’ experience in EV batteries, energy storage systems, battery swapping operations, warranty management, or field service leadership.Prior experience in large-scale EV infrastructure or mobility platforms strongly preferred.Other RequirementsAge: 20 – 30 yearsShift Timing: Day shift (flexibility required for critical incidents and international operations)Joining: Immediate or short notice preferredLanguage: English and local language proficiency for documentation and field coordinationTravel: Willingness to travel internationally for audits, incident
