At Visy India, their technology hub in Hyderabad, they are expanding their technical capabilities to support their global business.Position Description:Introduction to the Role:Position Title: Project Nexus Senior Transition ManagerReports to: Rebecca MarchDivision / Sub-Division: People & Culture / Project Nexus TeamCountry / Region Coverage: Australia / IndiaRole Location: India GCC (Hyderabad)Overview:Position Summary:Project Nexus was established by Visy in 2025 to create a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India to:Simplify & standardize the way Visy operatesTransform the way Visy worksSet Visy up for the next stage of growthA dedicated project team has been mobilized in Melbourne, Australia to deliver a smooth and efficient transition to the Visy India GCC. The project team is working closely with key stakeholders across the business including India, to transition processes from local onshore teams to the Visy India GCC throughout FY26 and beyond.The Project Nexus Senior Transition Manager will form a part of the Project Nexus Transition team and provide Senior transition management support ensuring effective preparation, planning, governance and reporting across the assigned Transitions. Key responsibilities will include providing leadership to transition managers to support them to plan and prepare transitions, assist with recruiting appropriate staff for requirements, input into onboarding and training of transition teams, oversee the knowledge capture stage, drive knowledge transfer during transition, drive Ramp up and Go live during transition and work with transition managers to resolve and provide input into the Stage Gates process during transition. Additionally, the role oversees administrative tasks such as travel arrangements and meeting logistics, ensuring smooth collaboration between Visy, PwC, and ANSR teams.Based in the India GCC, the Senior Transition Manager will report directly to the Nexus GM of Process & Transition and work closely with the broader Nexus project team to ensure seamless coordination and delivery.Key Responsibilities:Transition Planning and Preparation:Lead Visy India transition managers to plan and prepare transitions.Work with broader team on key (Level 1) milestones to track & report at a program level.Support the project team with managing plans in including updates to timelines, risks etc.Support the transition team in identifying and managing interdependencies across the program.Prepare Visy India staff for transition, through trainings, briefings and playbooks.Transition:Ensure successful end-to-end delivery of all activities in the transition.Creation of key transition artifacts.Assist with recruiting appropriate staff for requirements.Input into onboarding and training of Transition teams.Oversee knowledge capture activities.Drive knowledge transfer during transition.Drive Ramp up and Go live during transition.Provide input into Stage Gates process during transition.Support Ramp and Go live in the Visy India.Provide reporting against KPIs during ramp up and post go live.Promote engagement between Visy India teams and local teams.Develop and manage key transition templates.Train Visy India team members in transition approach and tools.Maintain document standards and naming convention integrity.Transition Governance & Reporting:Support in preparing for transition governance forums – collaborating with key Nexus team members to create the packs and sending pre-reads.Support the project lead in preparing change requests for scope, timeline, cost, benefit changes – conducting analysis on the impact to the business case.Acts as the primary India contact for transition planning, escalations, and issue resolution, working closely with central project team and BU Leads.Provide leadership to the Visy India Transition managers.Oversees setup and maintenance of transition plans in , including Level 1 milestone tracking and risk visibility.Coordinate with team members for their weekly transition updates.Collaborates closely with the India Country Manager and PMO Coordinators for governance and reporting.Support additional ad-hoc reporting requirements.Lessons Learned / Continuous Improvement:Support with organizing and running after action reviews / post implementation review at regular points throughout the project.Ensure lessons learned are not just captured but actively feed into future waves / transitions.Inject learnings from lessons learned and feedback into the transition approach.Admin / Travel Management:Organism meeting rooms for Transition workshops and KT sessions.Manage the Nexus travel tracker and support travel preparations such as visas, flight bookings, hotel bookings, claiming expenses, as required.Own the Visy India Travel Guide, making updates as required and organize onboarding sessions for onshore Visy employees travelling to GCC.Key Challenges:Time Zone: All other Project Nexus team members are based in Australia and typically work AU business hours (9:00 AM–5:00 PM). Project team meetings will occur outside India office hours, making it essential for the Transition Manager and GM Process & Transition to connect daily to maintain alignment and stay updated on the latest status. The Transition Manager will need to structure their day to keep mornings free for project meetings and dedicate afternoons to delivering assigned work and follow-ups.Key Requirements:Mandatory (Critical for the Role):Min 5 years’ experience.Experience leading Transitions to GCC/GBS/BPO.Experience in leading a team.Good project planning skills.Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and follow-through.Experience working in a GCC/GBS.Good written and verbal communication skills.People management skills.Desirable (Preferable for the Role):7 years+ experience desirable.Previous experience working in Transition Management for a significant business transformation program or GCC / BSC transformation.Proficient in .Skills (Technical, Business, Leadership):Solid understanding of GCCs and transition.Familiar with or similar PPM tools.Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).Self-starter, comfortable working autonomously, with the ability to identify what needs to be done and take proactive action to deliver outcomes.Confident working with a mix of stakeholders, building good relationships, keeping communication clear and knowing when to escalate or seek guidance.Good people management skills.
