As the BESS Engineering Manager specializing in BESS design and engineering, you’ll play a crucial role within the Engineering Services team based in India. Your main duty will involve prepare design, review engineering layouts, diagram and quantity estimations throughout the developmental and construction phases of our renewable energy projects across the portfolio.Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare design and review engineering drawings, calculations and documents to suit to project schedule related to BESSUse custom software tools to design BESS layouts.Apply knowledge of solar system design, BESS and different configuration and optimization methodologies.Review of electrical SLD, panel schedules, or connection diagrams for electric systems.Prepare various technical specifications, RFP, BOM and other engineering documents related to hybrid(BESS+PV/Wind) RE project.Ensure engineering deliverables with high quality as per departmental operating procedure and guidelines.Perform other responsibilities as necessary to support the successful completion of projectsFunctional skills & Job knowledge/experienceComputer literate with good knowledge of MS-office, AutoCAD and Google earth.Familiar in PV Case, PV CAD, Helios 3D, Google SketchUp for shading scene analysis.Experience in developing solutions using advanced excel, MATLAB/Python.An understanding of Battery Energy Storage System (On-grid/off-grid).Familiarity with use of HOMER, PLEXOS or related BESS/Hybrid design tool would be an advantage.Familiar with Engineering standards – IS, IEC,EN, BS, IEEE/ANSI, NEC, and NFC & etc. and, Safety regulations, Utility standards & etc.Review BESS related layout, Cable routing layout, equipment layout, Earthing, Lightning protection, & etc.Design & review of Equipment layouts, SLD/Schemes, General Arrangements of BESS.Good Knowledge on preparation of quantity estimation and BOM.Understanding and Preparation of technical specifications and review of tender specifications.Understanding of Sizing/selection of BESS, BMS, EMS, PCS, Transformer, MV/LV switchgear Panel, Cable, Bus Bar/Duct, DG, UPS, etc.Understanding of Calculation of Cable sizing, system Fault current, Power loss, Earthing, Lightning protection system, Lighting/Illumination system.Understanding of Manufacturers/Vendor/Subcontractors Drawings & Documentations.QualificationsBE/BTech (Electrical/ Electronics) from a recognized college/university.5-8 years (1-2 years in BESS) solar/wind hybrid utility scale projects, India & international experience)Blueleaf Energy is an equal opportunity employer.
