At launch, it will offer six programmes: four-year undergraduate degrees in Computing, Data Science, Economics, and Business Management, along with one-year master’s degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Business Administration.The Manager/Senior Manager – Student Welfare & Well-Being will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the student experience at the India campus. As part of the founding team, the role involves operationalising student services, managing student engagement, welfare, and campus life, and building systems that reflect the University of Aberdeen’s global standards. This position demands strong student-centric thinking, administrative agility, and the ability to work in a dynamic, multicultural environment.Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Experience & EngagementDesign and implement initiatives that enhance student engagement, well-being, and overall campus experience.Plan and oversee student events, orientation programmes, clubs, and activities that foster a vibrant campus culture.Serve as a primary point of contact for student concerns, grievances, and welfare support, ensuring timely and empathetic resolution.Student Services OperationsSet up and manage end-to-end student services processes including registration, student records, academic support coordination, and policy implementation.Maintain accurate student data and ensure compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.Coordinate with academic teams to support timetabling, examinations, student advisories, and retention initiatives.Welfare, Safety & ConductOversee processes related to student discipline, conduct, safeguarding, and well-being.Establish support systems for mental health, counselling referrals, and academic intervention pathways.Ensure student affairs practices align with safety, compliance, and risk management standards.Stakeholder CollaborationWork closely with faculty, administration, and external partners to deliver a seamless student experience.Coordinate with international offices to support student mobility, exchange programmes, and global engagement.Support new initiatives in areas such as career services, hostel/residential life, and student leadership development.Systems, Policy & GovernanceDevelop and manage student affairs policies, handbooks, and guidelines.Implement digital tools and platforms to streamline student services and communication.Track student experience metrics and generate periodic reports for leadership. Qualifications & ExperienceBachelors degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, Management, or a related field. Minimum 3+ years of experience in student affairs, student services, or academic administration—preferably within a higher education institution.Required SkillsStudent-Centric Mindset: Strong empathy, problem-solving abilities, and passion for supporting student growth. Operational Excellence: Proven ability to set up and manage student-facing processes. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication; ability to engage effectively with students and stakeholders. Event & Community Building: Experience designing programmes that create an inclusive and engaging campus environment. Analytical Abilities: Comfort with reporting, data tracking, and using insights to improve student experience. Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with student information systems, LMS platforms, and digital communication tools. Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with academic, administrative, and external teams.
