Job Description

Accountabilities and Responsibilities Ready to work in UK shift from office in hybrid manner. Responsible for all operational services running Unix based technologies on x86, P Series, Public Cloud, Private Cloud and On Prem platforms, both physical and virtual, supporting the UK, Ireland and Luxembourg businesses, ensuring all systems are fit for purpose, maintained, monitored and are compliant with Paragon’s internal and external obligations Responsible for coaching, training, performance managing and mentoring a team of Unix Engineers and ensuring their output meet the required quality standards Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain AIX and Linux operating systems based on Redhat, Oracle, and IBM technologies running in a Multi-Cloud, hybrid environment. Provide second line support responding to incident referrals ensuring incident and change management processes are followed whilst always protecting service. Prioritise problems based on severity and urgency and track all outstanding incidents until successful resolution or reallocation. Perform system maintenance, patching and updates ensuring compliance with Paragon’s security policies and controls. Ensure Unix systems maintain compliance with Paragons internal, external and client accreditation obligations, conduct routine hardware, software and access control audits, implement remediation activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Implement system changes as defined by established change control procedures Maintain solution documentation and accuracy of the configuration management database (CMDB) Identify and facilitate opportunities for continuous improvement in the product, process and service. Ensure data and system integrity across Paragon’s multi-cloud estate, ensuring BCP and DR platforms are maintained, protected and tested appropriately. Required to perform out of hours work upon agreement and will be part of an on call rota for Incident support and resolution Skills Strong knowledge of AIX and Linux Operating Systems Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Engineer, CompTIA Linux+) preferred. Current knowledge of Storage technologies and platforms Current knowledge of x86, P series and IaaS server architectures Experience of working with a team of IT engineers and infrastructure across a multi-site environment Understanding of service management tools such as Service Now and Jira Good organisational skills, the ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities. Strong English communication skills and ability to work individually or as part of a team. Proven problem solving and decision making skills Experience of ITIL and Prince 2 methodologies. SFIA Level 4
