Job Title: Swimming InstructorLocation: Sancta Maria International School, FaridabadPosition Type: Full-timeJob PurposeTo design and deliver a comprehensive swimming program that fosters skill development, water safety, discipline, and a lifelong love for the sport. The Swimming Instructor will train students across various age groups, develop their technical and physical abilities, and prepare them for competitive and recreational swimming, while ensuring safety and confidence in the water.Note: The role includes dedicated coaching responsibilities for girl students.Key ResponsibilitiesCoaching & TrainingPlan and conduct engaging, age-appropriate swimming lessons for beginners, intermediate, and advanced learners.Focus on building endurance, technique, and confidence in various swimming styles and strokes.Identify and nurture potential talent for district, state, and national-level competitions.Offer personalized feedback and correction to improve performance and motivation.Program Development & LeadershipDevelop a structured swimming curriculum aligned with the school’s sports philosophy.Promote swimming as a sport that builds discipline, resilience, and teamwork.Collaborate with the Head of Sports and management to organize events and training programs.Encourage inclusivity, ensuring all students—irrespective of skill level—feel supported and empowered.Safety & Facility ManagementEnsure strict adherence to water safety, hygiene, and supervision protocols at all times.Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the pool, equipment, and surrounding areas.Conduct regular checks of pool equipment and report maintenance needs promptly.Educate students on pool safety, responsible behavior, and proper use of facilities.Assessment & ReportingTrack and assess students’ progress, technique, and fitness levels.Provide detailed progress reports and feedback to students, parents, and school leadership.Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and competition participation.Events & CompetitionsPrepare and mentor students for inter-house, inter-school, and external swimming competitions.Organize swimming meets, awareness sessions, and water safety workshops at the school.Create pathways for talented swimmers to pursue the sport at higher competitive levels.Professional DevelopmentStay updated with modern swimming techniques, coaching methodologies, and safety standards.Participate in professional training and certifications to enhance coaching skills.Build connections with swimming federations, academies, and sports associations to widen opportunities for students.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or equivalent (preferred).Certified Swimming Instructor (recognized by Swimming Federation of India or equivalent certification mandatory).Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR certification required.Additional certifications in aquatic fitness, child development, or sports psychology (desirable).ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of experience as a Swimming Instructor or Coach, preferably in a school or academy setting.Proven experience training students for competitive swimming at district/state/national levels.Prior experience in an international or progressive school environment will be an added advantage.Skills & AttributesStrong technical expertise in various swimming styles and aquatic safety.Excellent communication, patience, and motivational skills.Commitment to student well-being, discipline, and continuous improvement.Ability to inspire confidence and teamwork among learners of all age groups.Passion for promoting swimming as both a fitness activity and competitive sport.How to ApplyTo apply for the position of Swimming Instructor at Sancta Maria International School, please submit a cover letter, resume/CV, and contact information for three professional references to Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
