Role OverviewThe Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting end-to-end US payroll operations with a focus on transactional accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, validation of inputs, and adherence to payroll controls and regulatory requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Processing & Transactions:Process end-to-end US payroll (weekly/bi-weekly), including data input, validation, and execution of payroll runs.Data Validation & Inputs:Validate payroll inputs such as new hires, terminations, pay changes, time & attendance, bonuses, and off-cycle payments.Payroll Accuracy & Adjustments:Perform pre- and post-payroll validations, handle payroll adjustments, retro calculations, and corrections.Tax & Compliance Support:Process tax withholdings, garnishments, and statutory deductions while supporting compliance with federal and state regulations.Reconciliation & Reporting:Assist in payroll reconciliations, generate reports, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.Employee Support:Address employee queries related to payroll, deductions, and discrepancies.Stakeholder Coordination:Partner with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll inputs and outputs.Documentation & Controls:Maintain payroll records, support audits, and ensure adherence to payroll processes and timelines. Required QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field Experience4–7 years of experience in US payroll processingHands-on experience in transactional payroll activities (data input, validation, processing) Knowledge & SkillsBasic understanding of US payroll laws, federal and state taxesExperience in multi-state payroll processing (preferred)Familiarity with payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, Workday, or similar)Understanding of payroll components such as earnings, deductions, and taxesExposure to employee benefits deductions (health insurance, 401K, etc.)Strong attention to detail and accuracyGood analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Preferred QualificationsExperience in high-volume payroll environmentsExposure to year-end payroll activities (W-2 processing)Experience working in GCC or global payroll setups What to ExpectAs a US Payroll Specialist at Ceres India, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
