The company has recently moved to a modern manufacturing facility with a strong focus on execution excellence, operational efficiency, and consistent product performance.Role OverviewWe are seeking a General Manager – Operations to lead and drive end-to-end manufacturing execution at our newly commissioned Pashamylaram facility. The role is responsible for production delivery, capacity utilisation, shopfloor efficiency, and operational discipline, while ensuring effective coordination with quality, supply chain, finance, and product development teams to achieve business objectives.The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on manufacturing leadership, a structured operational approach, and the ability to run a high-performance, results-driven shop floor.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Leadership :• Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations across all production lines• Ensure achievement of production targets in line with quality, cost, and delivery commitments• Drive shopfloor discipline, productivity, and optimal utilisation of manpower and machines• Ensure effective shift planning, line balancing, and throughput improvementProduction Planning & Performance Monitoring :• Execute production plans as per forecasted and committed schedules• Monitor core operational KPIs, including output, efficiency, downtime, and rejections• Analyse performance gaps and drive timely corrective actions• Ensure optimal utilisation of installed manufacturing capacityProcess Excellence & Continuous Improvement :• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste• Implement best practices in manufacturing processes and work methods• Support standardisation of processes to ensure consistency and repeatability• Ensure adherence to approved production processes and control plansQuality, Safety & Compliance :• Ensure production adherence to approved quality standards and specifications• Drive root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for quality deviations• Ensure shopfloor compliance with safety, statutory, and IMS requirements• Support internal and external audits through effective execution and follow-upSystems & Reporting :• Use SAP Business One (Production Module) for production planning, tracking, and reporting• Ensure accurate and timely shopfloor data capture and reporting• Review system reports and dashboards to support operational decision-making.Cross-Functional Coordination :• Coordinate with quality teams to achieve defect reduction and consistency targets• Work closely with supply chain teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability• Support product trials, pilot runs, and scale-up activities in coordination with development teams• Interface with finance on inventory control, WIP, and cost monitoringPeople & Execution Leadership :• Lead and monitor production, maintenance, and shopfloor teams• Build accountability, discipline, and ownership at all operating levels• Develop supervisors and second-line leaders for operational stability• Ensure clear communication and execution clarity across shifts and departmentsWhat You Bring • B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering• 20+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in engineering or industrial products• Strong Handson experience in managing plant-level operations and large shopfloor teams• Solid understanding of production planning, capacity management, and process optimisation• Working knowledge of SAP Business One or similar ERP systems• Strong leadership, execution focus, and problem-solving capabilityWhy Join KGEPL? • Lead operations at a growing, multiproduct manufacturing facility• Play a key role in driving manufacturing efficiency and execution excellence• Work with an experienced leadership team in a legacy engineering organisation• Opportunity to make a visible, measurable impact on operational performance.
