Job Description

About Funnel TruffleFunnel Truffle is a digital marketing consultancy that works with international clients across real estate, technology, and professional services. We operate at the intersection of marketing strategy, technology, and AI, building systems that directly drive business outcomes for our clients. We are a small, high-output team where every person owns their work end to end. There is no hand-holding, no micromanagement, and no busywork. If you are the kind of person who thrives when given a clear problem and the freedom to solve it your way, this is the place for you.The RoleWe are looking for someone who sees a manual process and immediately thinks: this should not require a human. Someone who looks at a repetitive workflow and instinctively starts mapping out how to automate it, what tools to connect, where AI fits in, and how to make the whole thing run without anyone babysitting it.You are not married to any single tool. You have worked with n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar platforms. You have used AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot to build things faster. You have connected APIs, set up webhooks, written scripts when the no-code tool could not handle the logic, and stitched together systems that talk to each other without breaking. The tool does not matter. The outcome does. If n8n is the right fit, you use n8n. If the problem needs a custom script, you write one. If an AI agent can handle a workflow better than a static automation, you build the agent. You pick the right tool for the job, not the tool you are most comfortable with. You understand that automation is not just about saving time. It is about building systems that are reliable, maintainable, and scalable. A workflow that breaks every third day is worse than doing the task manually. You build things that work and keep working. What You Will Work OnDesign, build, and maintain automated workflows that connect marketing, sales, operations, and client-facing systemsUse n8n, Make, Zapier, or custom code to automate repetitive processes across the business and for clientsIntegrate AI (LLM APIs, AI agents, Claude Code, and similar tools) into automation workflows to handle tasks that require intelligence, not just logicConnect third-party platforms, CRMs, email tools, databases, and internal systems through APIs and webhooksBuild monitoring, error handling, and alerting into every workflow so things do not fail silentlyDocument your automations clearly so the team can understand, maintain, and extend themContinuously identify manual processes across the business that can be automated and propose solutionsWork with the marketing, development, and operations teams to understand their workflows and build automations that genuinely solve their problemsWhat We Are Looking ForHands-on experience with workflow automation platforms like n8n, Make (Integromat), or Zapier. You have built real workflows that run in production, not just tutorials.Comfort with AI tools: you have used Claude, ChatGPT, or similar LLMs in a workflow context, whether through APIs, AI agents, or AI-assisted coding tools like Claude Code or CursorAPI literacy: you understand REST APIs, authentication methods (OAuth, API keys, tokens), webhooks, and how to read API documentation to connect any two systemsScripting ability: you can write Python, JavaScript, or similar when the no-code tool hits its limits. You do not need to be a full-time developer, but you can code your way out of a corner.Systems thinking: you do not just automate one task in isolation. You think about the entire process, edge cases, failure modes, and how the automation fits into the bigger picture.Reliability obsession: you build error handling, retries, logging, and alerts into your workflows. You hate silent failures.Self-directed: you do not wait for someone to hand you a list of things to automate. You spot the opportunities yourself and propose solutions.Clear communication: you can explain what an automation does, why it exists, and how it works to someone who is not technicalWhat This Role Is NotThis is not a role where you will only use one tool. If you only know Zapier and are not interested in learning n8n, custom scripting, or AI agent workflows, this is not the right fit. This is not a role where you build automations and forget about them. You will own the reliability and maintenance of everything you build. This is not a role for someone who avoids writing code. No-code tools are great until they are not, and you need to be comfortable bridging the gap. This is not a role for someone who treats AI as a buzzword. You will be expected to practically integrate AI into workflows, not just talk about it.Bonus Points If You HaveSet up or managed self-hosted n8n instancesBuilt AI agents or multi-step AI workflows that go beyond simple prompt-and-respondExperience with database design or data pipeline automationWorked in a marketing, sales, or operations environment where you understood the business context behind the automationContributed to open-source automation tools or built custom nodes/integrationsHow to ApplySend an email to with the following:Subject line: Automation Specialist Application - [Your Name]A short note about your experience with automation and AI tools. Tell us what you have built, what tools you used, and what problem it solved. One or two examples of automations you are proud of. Screenshots, Loom videos, or written descriptions all work. We want to see how you think, not just what you built.Your resume (keep it to one page if possible)No generic applications please. If we cannot tell from your email that you actually read this JD, we will not respond.
