Job Title: Design Engineer – Modular Furniture & Sheet MetalLocation: Bangalore Department: Design / Engineering Experience Required: 4–6 YearsAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Design Engineer with strong experience in modular furniture design, along with working knowledge of sheet metal components.The role involves designing complete furniture systems using panel-based materials, while also integrating sheet metal parts used in structures, accessories, and support systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop modular furniture systems (workstations, storage units, cabinets, etc.). Prepare detailed cutlists, panel drawings, and production drawings. Work with prelam boards, MDF, plywood, laminates, and hardware systems. Integrate sheet metal components into furniture designs where required. Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing. Generate and manage BOM (Bill of Materials) for both panels and metal parts. Optimize designs for cost, material utilization, and manufacturability. Coordinate closely with factory, project, and installation teams. Support prototyping, site modifications, and design improvements. Required QualificationsDiploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 4–6 years of experience in modular furniture design. Required Skills (Must-Have)Strong experience in modular furniture / panel-based design. Hands-on experience with cutlist preparation, nesting, and panel optimization. Knowledge of edge banding, joinery systems, and furniture hardware. Working knowledge of sheet metal design basics (bending, fabrication, tolerances). Proficiency in AutoCAD. Understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC cutting, bending, assembly). Preferred SkillsExperience in office furniture systems / workstation design. Familiarity with CNC programming or nesting software. Exposure to turnkey interior or project-based execution.
