The incumbent will work across three interconnected areas: financial aid administration and student engagement; institutional outreach across NGOs, government schools, and partner networks; and fundraising support. The role requires someone who is equally comfortable managing data and processes, representing the University in the field, and engaging with students, partners, and donors in a professional and sensitive manner. This is a high-ownership role suited to a professional with a genuine passion for equitable access to quality education.Key Responsibilities1. Financial AidEngage and co-ordinate with offered students participating in the financial aid assessment process. Manage all communication and query resolution, and actively enable their journey through to enrolment.Liaise and work closely with the University’s financial aid assessment partners to ensure a seamless and timely assessment process, flagging exceptions and driving resolution proactively.Manage, tabulate, and review data received through the financial aid process, maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and up-to-date records at all stages.Prepare data compilations and presentations to support institutional leadership during financial aid committee reviews and offer approval decisions.2. OutreachUndertake field outreach alongside the University’s empanelled outreach partners – serving as the Nayanta representative in the room at schools, NGOs, and government school engagement events across India.Plan and execute independent outreach initiatives – virtual and in-person – in regions not covered by existing outreach partners, ensuring Nayanta’s visibility and presence across the Rest of India (RoI).Serve as the single point of contact for all outreach, application, and financial aid queries from NGO and school partners, building trusted and sustained institutional relationships.Prospect and develop new NGO and school partnerships across India to continually expand the University’s reach to talented, deserving students from diverse backgrounds.3. FundraisingSupport the fundraising team in the preparation of funding proposals, briefing notes, and pitch materials for prospective donors and institutional partners.Manage post-funding donor engagement communications, including thank-you letters, personalised mailers, and periodic progress and impact reports, ensuring timely and professional delivery.The stated responsibilities are not an exhaustive list of duties. Employees may be required to perform other job-related tasks as necessary.Qualifications & ExperienceEducationBachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university; a degree in Social Sciences, Commerce, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is preferred.A postgraduate qualification (MBA, MSW, or equivalent) is an advantage.ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of relevant work experience in a university, school, educational NGO, or student services/admissions function.Prior exposure to financial aid administration, scholarship management, or student counselling is highly desirable.Experience in institutional outreach – including field visits and engagement with schools, NGOs, and counsellors – is a strong advantage.Experience in fundraising support or donor communications in an educational or non-profit context will be viewed favourably.Demonstrable experience managing data, trackers, and reporting with a high degree of accuracy.Technical CompetenciesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to prepare clean, presentation-ready reports and data trackers.Familiarity with CRM tools or student information systems is an advantage.Comfort with routine MIS, data tabulation, and record maintenance.Personal AttributesGenuine empathy for students, particularly those navigating financial and logistical barriers to accessing higher education.Strong interpersonal and communication skills – confident representing the University across diverse settings, from a school counsellor’s office to a partner NGO or donor meeting.Well-organised with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently without loss of accuracy.Self-motivated and proactive – comfortable working independently in the field as well as collaboratively within a team.Discretion and sensitivity in handling confidential student and donor information.Willingness to travel pan-India as required for outreach and partnership development activities.Must be fluent in English, Hindi and Marathi.
