Role OverviewThe Project Manager – 10 MW Solar Power Project will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of solar energy projects across managed properties. This role requires close coordination with EPC contractors, consultants, government authorities, utilities, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within approved budgets, and in full compliance with applicable regulatory, technical, and safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & DeliveryManage the full lifecycle of solar projects, including feasibility assessment, design coordination, execution, commissioning, and final handover.Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation frameworks.Track project milestones, critical paths, and dependencies to ensure timely and efficient delivery.Stakeholder & Contractor CoordinationServe as the primary interface with EPC contractors, solar consultants, design engineers, and equipment vendors.Liaise with DISCOMs, state electricity boards, and relevant statutory authorities for approvals, grid connectivity, and net-metering arrangements.Coordinate with property owners, asset managers, and occupants to ensure seamless project execution with minimal disruption.Technical & Regulatory OversightReview and validate system designs, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and load assessments.Ensure compliance with MNRE guidelines, CEA regulations, state-specific solar policies, and local building and electrical codes.Oversee procurement and installation of solar modules, inverters, mounting structures, cabling, and balance-of-system components.Commercial & Cost ManagementPrepare and manage project budgets, BOQs, cost estimates, and cash flow projections.Monitor project expenditures, approve invoices, and manage variations or change orders.Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality and compliance standards.Quality, Safety & Risk ManagementEnsure adherence to quality benchmarks, HSE standards, and environmental regulations across all project sites.Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and progress reviews.Identify project risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies.Commissioning, Handover & DocumentationCoordinate testing, commissioning, and grid synchronization activities.Ensure completion and submission of all required documentation, including as-built drawings, warranties, manuals, and statutory certificates.Facilitate structured handover to operations and maintenance teams, ensuring long-term asset performance.Reporting & GovernancePrepare and present periodic project status reports for senior management and stakeholders.Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, contracts, approvals, and compliance documentation.Monitor KPIs related to timelines, costs, quality, and operational readiness.Qualifications & ExperienceEducationBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or Civil).Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) preferred.Experience7–12 years of overall project management experience, with a minimum of 3–5 years in solar or renewable energy projects in India.Demonstrated experience working with EPC contractors, utilities, and government authorities.Prior exposure to property management, infrastructure, or real estate–linked energy projects will be an advantage.Skills & CompetenciesStrong technical understanding of solar PV systems, grid connectivity, and regulatory frameworks in India.Proven expertise in project planning, scheduling, risk management, and execution.Commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, contract administration, and cost control.Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera, MS Office, and basic AutoCAD.Willingness to travel and manage multiple project sites.Preferred AttributesExperience delivering rooftop solar projects across commercial or residential portfolios.Knowledge of net metering, captive consumption, and open-access power structures.Familiarity with asset lifecycle management and O&M transition.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional and multi-vendor teams.
