Join our team and embark on a career that truly matters!Job SummaryAs a Mechanical Design Engineer – NPD, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to convert innovative concepts into production-ready solutions.ResponsibilitiesContribute in mechanical product design from concept to completion, including validation and testing.Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, mechanical components, and mechanisms, and complete mechanical assemblies.Involve in the selection of mechanical components, motors and gearboxes, and other machine components.Perform FEA analysis for design validation Contribute in making prototypes, testing, and validating using prototypes.Independently perform end to end mechanical product design and development including product conceptualization, detailing, design validation & testing of electro mechanical components / products / systems.Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers for complete product integration.Work with vendors and customers to finalize component specifications and validate manufacturability.Conduct and review DFMEA, structural and thermal analysis reports.Coordinate with manufacturing and QA teams to ensure production-readiness while adhering to quality, safety, and cost standards.Operate efficiently in a fast-paced and iterative development environment.Skills requiredProficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred)Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, mechanical calculations, and motor selection.Strong knowledge in static & dynamic calculations, mechanisms and machine design.Basic knowledge on forward and inverse kinematicsStrong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and different prototyping methods.Basic knowledge of GD&T, and FEA analysis.Strong knowledge of CNC - milling, turning, and sheet metal DFMA.Basic knowledge of vibrations and waterproofing.Familiarity with FMEA, reliability engineering, and validation techniquesCritical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detailDesired candidate profile:1-3 years of relevant hands-on experience in mechanical design and developmentShould have experience working on robotic arm and gripper designExposure to defence, electromechanical systems, or startup/SME environments is a strong advantageStrong communication, leadership, collaboration skillsBachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldHow to Apply:To apply for this opportunity, you may also email your resume and cover letter to with the email subject as /"Application for Mechanical Design Engineer – NPD (Robotics) Role/"Know More About Vir InnovationsCompany Website: Profile:
