At Verve Overseas, we value creativity, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.Location: must live in or be comfortable traveling to Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh on a monthly basis, 20% travel a year.Reports to: Chief Operating Officer About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Lead Textile Designer to own and execute our one-year design strategy across rug, pillow, and pouf categories for the U.S. market. Based on-site at our Mumbai location, this role involves conceptualizing and developing original design concepts, creating embroidery patterns, textile prints, and graphics. This role combines creative leadership, vendor collaboration, market analysis, and people management. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in rug product development, strong project management skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a small design team. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the company’s one-year textile design strategy aligned with business and brand goalsLead rug product development for the U.S. market from concept through productionCollaborate closely with domestic and international vendors to develop CAD designs and assign colorwaysEnsure quality, accuracy, and timelines are met throughout developmentAnalyze industry leaders and competitors to identify trends, pricing benchmarks, and opportunitiesPresent market trends, design direction, and recommendations to leadershipLead design projects for national accounts in pillow and pouf categoriesSource, evaluate, and onboard new vendorsLead price negotiations and develop long-term vendor relationshipsManage multiple concurrent projects with strong organization and accountabilityManage and mentor 1–2 direct reportsTravel to Bhadohi, UP monthly to support vendor development and production alignment QualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience in textile design with a strong focus on rug product development for the U.S. marketProven experience working with vendors on CAD development and color executionProficiency in creating Embroidery designs, Rug weaving patterns, Textile Prints, and understanding Textile trendsPrior people management experienceStrong understanding of the home furnishings market, especially rugs, pillows, and poufsAbility to translate market trends into commercially successful designsExperience supporting national or key retail accountsStrong project management and organizational skillsExcellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilitiesProficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD toolsComfortable with regular travel to Bhadohi, UP
