Vedanta's Aluminium Business is one of the world's top and India's largest producer of million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The company is rapidly scaling its efforts to become a fully integrated, global leader in aluminium production, offering a wide range of high-quality aluminium products. Vedanta’s Bauxite and Coal mines will play a crucial role in this endeavor, strategically poised to be the largest value creators for the aluminium business. Vedanta Mines Aluminium is instrumental in securing the Coal and Bauxite resources that fuel our alumina refineries, aluminium smelters, and power plants at Odisha and Chhattisgarh. In line with Vedanta Aluminium’s vision of 3MTPA capacity with 100% forward and backward integration, the Mines Business is ramping up coal production to 50 MT annually and developing newly secured bauxite blocks to meet over 18 MT of requirements - forming the backbone of our integrated growth across the aluminium value chain. Vedanta invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from passionate, innovative, and forward-thinking professionals for Head Security for our Coal Mines business. This role is pivotal in driving the growth and realizing the broader vision of our Aluminium Business. Roles & Responsibilities: Manage stakeholder engagement, community relations; while ensuring zero harm, seamless business continuity, and proactive risk mitigation. Understand the local socio-political and cultural landscape to build and maintain cordial, trust-based relationships with the local community in a tactful and sustainable manner. Ensure strict compliance with all local, national, and international security regulations, mining laws, and statutory requirements. Assess operational security needs and develop a comprehensive roadmap for infrastructure development, including mine gates, fencing, and access control systems. Strategically lead and implement comprehensive mine security operations by developing policies, infrastructure, digitizing systems, audit and compliance measures. Plan and manage security manpower requirements, including direct and indirect staffing, in alignment with operational and risk. Establish and maintain a robust security and vigilance framework to proactively identify social and security-related issues and address them before escalation. Create and maintain an impeccable security vigilance system to proactively understand social issues to address. Ensure effective implementation of security system 7 vigilance initiatives. Eligility Criteria: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12–15 years of experience in security, preferably in mining / manufacturing environments. Strategically lead and implement comprehensive mine security operations by developing policies, infrastructure, digitization systems, audit and compliance measures. Manage stakeholder engagement, community relations, while ensuring zero harm and seamless business continuity. Strong leadership skills, excellent coordination and communication ability, problem‑solving aptitude, attention to detail, and proficiency in security‑related software and systems.
