Data Scientist – Product CompanyLocation: Mumbai (Onsite)Experience: 2–5 YearsIndustry: Consumer Internet / ProductAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Data Scientist who can work closely with Product and Engineering teams to build scalable machine learning solutions that directly impact business metrics such as user engagement, revenue, and retention.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with Product teams to identify high-impact ML opportunities aligned with business goalsWork on large-scale structured and unstructured datasets to build robust data pipelines and featuresDevelop and deploy machine learning models for:Personalization and recommendation systemsUser matching and ranking algorithmsPricing and revenue optimizationFraud detection and risk modelingChurn, conversion, and propensity modelingCollaborate with Engineering teams to productionize models using APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platformsDesign and execute A/B experiments to evaluate model performanceMonitor model performance, data drift, and business KPIsRequired Skills & Experience2–5 years of experience in Data Science / Machine Learning roles (preferably in product-based companies)Strong programming skills in Python and SQLHands-on experience in building and deploying ML models end-to-endExperience in at least 2 of the following:Recommendation systemsFraud / risk analyticsPricing or demand modelingPropensity / churn modelsExposure to NLP, user profiling, or anomaly detectionExperience with AWS / GCP, Docker, CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with data tools like Redshift, BigQuery, Tableau, or LookerStrong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skillsPreferred BackgroundExperience in consumer internet / B2C product companiesProven track record of shipping ML models to production (7–8+ models preferred)Understanding of experimentation frameworks and statistical validationKey CompetenciesData-driven decision makingStrong business understanding with technical executionOwnership mindsetAbility to work in fast-paced product environmentsCandidate Requirements (Mandatory)Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning EngineerStrong expertise in Python with hands-on implementation of classical ML algorithms (regression, decision trees, gradient boosting, etc.)Practical experience with Neural Networks / Deep Learning (TensorFlow or PyTorch preferred)Hands-on experience in at least 2 use cases: recommendation systems, image data, fraud/risk detection, pricing models, or propensity modelsStrong exposure to NLP (text classification, embeddings, similarity models, user profiling, feature extraction from unstructured text)Experience in productionizing ML models using APIs, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)Preference for candidates from product-based environments (non-financial domain preferred)Must be based in Mumbai or open to relocating immediately
