Role Description We are seeking a high-impact Marketing & Communications Manager  to lead branding, storytelling, and outreach initiatives across India. This role is critical in building market presence for plant-based proteins, agri-biotech innovations, and sustainable food systems. The candidate will operate at the intersection of marketing strategy, stakeholder engagement, and ecosystem development, with a strong focus on farmer networks, institutional partnerships, and B2B commercialization pipelines. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Marketing & Brand Development Develop and execute India-focused marketing strategies aligned with global positioning Build and manage brand identity across different geography and brand Lead messaging for: Plant-based proteins (quinoa, pea, canola, hemp), Genomics-driven crop innovation 2. Communications & Content Leadership Develop high-quality content for: Investor decks, Government submissions, Website and social media, Technical brochures and whitepapers, Manage digital presence (LinkedIn, website, media releases) Create storytelling narratives positioning India as a strategic production and innovation hub 3. Outreach & Ecosystem Development (Core Focus) Build and manage relationships with: Farmer organizations (e.g., FPOs, cooperatives) Agricultural universities (e.g., HAU, PAU, IARI) Government bodies (state agriculture departments, APEDA, NABARD) Industry players (food processors, ingredient companies) Lead outreach programs including: Field days and farmer engagement campaigns University collaborations and pilot programs B2B partnership development Support contract farming expansion (quinoa, oats, specialty crops) 4. Market Development & Business Support Identify and develop go-to-market strategies for: Quinoa and oats production programs Protein ingredient commercialization Support lead generation and pipeline development for: Ingredient buyers Export markets Coordinate with Canada and global teams for alignment 5. Events, Trade Missions & Visibility Plan and execute: Trade shows and exhibitions Government delegations and roadshows Investor and partner meetings Represent the organization at key forums in India 6. Media & Public Relations Build relationships with agri-media and business press Draft press releases and thought leadership articles Position leadership as industry voices Key Qualifications Education Bachelor’s or Master’s in: Marketing / Communications Agribusiness / Food Technology Biotechnology / Life Sciences (preferred with marketing experience) Experience 2–3 years in: Marketing/communications in agriculture, food, or biotech Rural outreach or agri-value chain development Strong exposure to the Indian agricultural ecosystem is essential Core Competencies Strategic storytelling and brand positioning Strong stakeholder engagement (farmers → government → corporates) Deep understanding of India agri-value chains Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to operate in cross-border teams (India–Canada) Entrepreneurial mindset with execution focus Preferred Experience Experience with: Contract farming programs Protein ingredients/food processing Sustainability or climate-smart agriculture Existing network in: Haryana, Punjab, Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra  KPIs / Success Metrics Number of strategic partnerships established Farmer network expansion (hectares / farmers onboarded) Brand visibility and media reach Lead generation and conversion for B2B sales Successful execution of outreach programs and events Why This Role Matters This is not a conventional marketing role.
