Company: San Francisco startup Location: Remote (India) About the Role We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager with a strong background in electrical engineering and hands-on experience shaping how engineering talent is evaluated and hired. This role is ideal for someone who began their career as an electrical engineer and is now working in talent acquisition, technical recruiting, or a related hiring-focused function, with direct involvement in building or improving evaluation processes for engineers. You should currently be, or have recently been, part of a recognizable company in the deeptech or hardtech space. You will help define strong hiring standards, improve technical assessment quality, and ensure engineering candidates are evaluated against real-world expectations. What You’ll Do Build and refine evaluation frameworks for electrical engineering candidates Design structured interview processes, technical screens, scorecards, and assessment rubrics Partner with hiring managers, recruiters, and leadership to define hiring criteria Translate real electrical engineering work into practical, high-signal evaluation methods Improve consistency, fairness, and quality across the engineering hiring process Help identify what strong talent looks like across different levels of seniority Calibrate interviewers and support better hiring decision-making Requirements Previous hands-on experience as an Electrical Engineer Current or prior experience in talent acquisition , technical recruiting, talent partnering, or a similar hiring-focused role Direct experience helping build, improve, or run the evaluation process for engineers Experience working at a recognizable deeptech or hardtech company Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and what good engineering talent looks like in practice Ability to design structured and effective evaluation processes Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred Experience hiring for hardware, embedded, electronics, semiconductor, robotics, industrial, aerospace, automotive, or related engineering roles Experience designing interview loops and technical assessments from scratch Exposure to interviewer training, calibration, or hiring operations Ability to work across both technical and recruiting teams
