Responsibilities:Help set the team’s technical direction of our core systems, model best practices for development, and take a high level of ownership over architecture decisionsOptimize and tune SQL queries for performance and scalability.Measure and improve performance and monitoring for our core backend stackLead system and integration testing; provide guidance via code and design reviews for members of the development teamCollaborate with the broader engineering and product management teams on new ideas and functionality for our products and their underlying data platformCreate and maintain technical documentation on development processes and codeWork in a demanding but highly collegial and collaborative environmentQualifications:Dependency Injection, Test Driven Development5+ years of experience with SQL, Postgres, or MySQLStrong proficiency in SQL and relational database systems (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).Experience working in an Agile environmentExperience using Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) automationProficiency in data modeling and database design.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Nice to Have:Certifications: AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP. Data specific certification is a plus.Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, Amazon RDS).Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.Experience in financial services
