Role Title: Aviation Executive Reports to: Servicing and Aviation Manager Function: TC Support - AviationLeadership Community: Specialist Leadership Role DescriptionA multi skilled executive with experience of IATA airline reservations & ticketing working as part of a successful service-based team responsible for providing support to our home-based Travel Counsellors. Offering excellent knowledge of all air fares with a good geographical awareness to assist with making reservations, recalculating amendments, processing refunds, and the ability to issue and reissue tickets.Principle AccountabilitiesMaking complex reservations on scheduled airlines for our Travel CounsellorsPutting together complex itineraries using manual contracts where requiredGiving advice on different air fare types & fare rulesAwareness of Phenix flights functionalityAdvising on best routings/airlinesUnderstanding the minimum ground arrangements required for our negotiated ITX faresGiving the applicable codes to ensure extended ticketing time limits achievedReceiving airline communication & distributing where necessaryBooking BA groups using BA dropthroughProviding assistance with Galileo entries & supporting our GDS users to use the resource more effectivelyAdvising Travel Counsellors of airline schedule changes & sourcing alternativesEnsuring published and consolidated tickets are issued accurately and efficientlyAmending and recalculating voluntary changes according to fare rulesReissuing tickets in the case of voluntary & involuntary changesBuilding and issuing tickets on group bookingsQueue management – understanding ticketing time limits & reading vendor remarksProcessing of airline refunds via GDS & BSPlink – awareness of the accuracy requiredReviewing & investigation of ADMs received – understanding airline rules & policies to be able to dispute in a timely mannerUpdating files appropriatelyCapabilityDescriptionGDS : Experience of Galileo to make and amend airline reservations. BSPlink: Knowledge and experience of BSPlink to assist with offering refunds where applicable.Airline Ticketing: Experience of airline ticketing, along with ability to recalculate for both reissue and refund. Experience with a Global Distribution System (GDS), preferably Galileo, or an equivalent IATA-accredited systemPrior experience in a Travel Management Company (TMC)
