Job Title: Manager – General LedgerFunction: FinanceLocation: HyderabadReports to position: Senior Manager – Finance Band: A3Reportees to Position: Assistant Managers/Senior Associates Job Purpose The GL Manager will be responsible for managing transactional level operations of the end-to-end General Ledger (GL) process, including monthly review of GL, preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under Ind AS. The role requires strong accounting acumen, operational oversight, and financial discipline to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and maintenance of hygiene in books of accounts.The role involves close collaboration with multiple stakeholders and active participation in monthly closure, financial reporting, statutory and internal audits.Job Outline At ISB, Finance plays a key role in controlling and managing the financials of the institute. The department also manages all the legal matters as well as all aspects related to statutory compliances. The Manager GL – Finance & Accounts will primarily be responsible for managing General Ledger (GL) processes. The role demands hands-on involvement in transactional level accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and audit coordination. The incumbent will also support automation and simplification projects aimed at improving efficiency and control within the finance function.Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under Ind AS, ensuring that all transactions are complete, accurate, and compliant with GAAP and ISB’s accounting policies. Perform periodic GL reviews to ensure proper accounting in relevant GL accounts, fund codes, and cost centers, maintaining hygiene and accuracy in books of accounts. Responding to the queries of FP&A team on the accounting transactions. Prepare supporting schedules for audit and closing activities, ensuring alignment with accounting policies. Support in the preparation of MIS reports related to capex, infrastructure, and one-time budgets, including budget vs actual analysis.Support statutory, internal, and grant audits by coordinating with finance and non-finance teams, preparing notes to accounts, and resolving audit queries within timelines. Ensure all schedules reconcile with financial statements and SAP data.Provide guidance and support to team members on accounting related matters, fostering best practices and operational discipline.Job SpecificationKnowledge / Education: CA/CA InterSpecific Skills: Mandatory: Ind AS, Financial Statements preparation, GL review, SAP, MS Excel and Power Point.Desired: Good analytical skills, coordination, and stakeholder management skills, Tech Savy Interpersonal skillsDesirable Experience: 5 to 8 yearsS. N, Key Responsibilities, % Time Spent1 General Ledger & Accounting Accuracy: Ensure completeness and accuracy of all accounting transactions every month, with proper classification under relevant GLs, Cost Centers, and Fund Codes. Providing responses to FP&A team for the accounted transactions. Support in endowment accounting. 20%2 Maintain hygiene in books of accounts through periodic review of AR, AP, CWIP, FA, and other balance sheet schedules including ageing of old items and highlighting the issues to the management and working along to resolve the issues. 20%3 Ensure monthly book closure within the stipulated timelines as per the month close calendar in coordination with AP, AR, Treasury and other teams 15%4 Financial Reporting & Compliance: Support in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under Ind AS/projections. Provide meaningful variance analysis. Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards, statutory requirements, and internal control procedures while maintaining a proper repository of financials and related schedules.15%5 Audit Coordination & Review: Support statutory, internal, FCRA, IFC, tax, and grant audits by coordinating with relevant teams, providing audit information within timelines, and resolving queries promptly. Ensure that all schedules reconcile with SAP/Trial Balance and that audit observations are implemented in subsequent periods. Preparation of notes to accounts in line with the statutory requirements. Ensure that audits are completed within the time limits and with no observations. 15%6 Any other adhoc activities as required by the management including support in finance process automation 15%
