Role OverviewWe are looking for a seasoned and forward-thinking Legal leader to build and lead the Legal function at Licious during a pivotal phase of scale and transformation. This is a high-impact, enterprise-shaping role that goes far beyond traditional Legal advisory. You will act as a strategic partner to the Leadership team, helping architect a strong Legal, Governance, and Risk framework while enabling business growth in a dynamic, consumer-tech environment.You will play a critical role in strengthening our path to public-company readiness - establishing the structures, discipline, and rigor required for operating at the highest standards of governance and compliance.What makes the role meaty?Be a trusted advisor to the Founders, CFO, and Leadership team on Legal, Regulatory, and Governance mattersLead enterprise-wide legal and governance readiness, including due diligence, disclosures, DRHP, filings and coordination with external advisors, counsels and bankersBuild and institutionalize corporate governance frameworks aligned with public-market expectationsOversee Board governance, shareholder matters, and investor-facing legal processesEnsure compliance with the Companies Act, 2013 and SEBI regulationsLead and drive end-to-end commercial contracting across procurement, supply chain, marketing, partnerships, and technologyEnsure compliance with evolving regulatory frameworks, including food safety, sourcing, labeling, and distribution (FSSAI)Lead employment law, ESOP structures, and workplace policies, including POSH complianceBuild and scale a high-performing legal function, including team, processes, and legal operationsDevelop scalable legal playbooks, contracting frameworks, and risk mitigation systemsPartner cross-functionally to enable innovation and growth while proactively managing legal and regulatory risksWe hope that you have..Qualified as a lawyer in India with 15+ years of post-qualification experienceA strong mix of top-tier law firm and in-house leadership experience, ideally in consumer tech, e-commerce, or high-growth IPO-stage companies.Experience in preparing organizations for public markets or operating in highly regulated, governance-intensive environmentsDeep expertise across Corporate Law, Governance, Commercial Contracting, Regulatory Compliance, Data Privacy, and Risk ManagementA business-first mindset with the ability to balance risk with speed and growthProven experience operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, and high-growth environmentsStrong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and drive alignmentHands-on leadership experience to seamlessly operate at both strategic and execution levelsHigh ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to build from first principles.
