We are seeking a PI System Engineer to support and enhance the refinery’s real-time data infrastructure built on the AVEVA PI System (formerly OSIsoft PI).This role is critical in ensuring high availability, integrity, and usability of operational data across refinery systems, enabling real-time monitoring, analytics, and decision-making across OT and IT environments.You will operate within a Global Capability Center (GCC), working closely with UK refinery based operations, process engineers, and digital teams.Job Role:Ensure continuous availability and health of PI Data Archive, AF Server, PI Vision, and PI Interfaces. Provide L2/L3 support for the sameEnsure strict control over PI tag creation, ensuring adherence to naming standards, avoiding duplication, and performing periodic tag rationalization to optimize system performance and data usabilityMonitor system performance and proactively resolve issues impacting data flow and system stabilityEnsure vulnerability mitigations with regular patch upgrades Perform routine system health checks and capacity monitoringMonitor and maintain data interfaces including OPC DA/HDA, UFL, and RDBMS connectorsConfigure and deploy new interfaces for onboarding additional data sourcesTroubleshoot data gaps, latency issues, and communication failures and Perform data backfilling where applicable to ensure historical continuityCreate, maintain, and optimize AF hierarchies and templates, EF & Notifications in alignment with business needs.Manage lifecycle of PI tags (creation, deletion, and rationalization)Maintain data quality, consistency, and governance standardsManage user access and permissions across PI components and rationalize the usage.
