Job Title: Innovation Consultant (FMCG/Chemicals/Automotives/Sustainability) Years of experience: 8-15 years Job Location: Mohali (Chandigarh region) or Remote Job Type: Full Time We are looking for someone who enjoys figuring things out before the rest of the world does - an experienced research and strategy professional who can design and lead complex research engagements across technology, market, and innovation domains. This role requires someone who can deeply understand client challenges, structure research strategies, and guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver meaningful insights. The candidate should be comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders and translating complex client problems into structured research approaches. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across research disciplines such as technology intelligence, market research, opportunity analysis, and primary research, and is now capable of strategizing and overseeing projects rather than executing every research activity individually. This role is highly client-facing and requires someone who can speak the language of industries, understand buyer priorities, and translate research insights into business-relevant narratives. Lead client discussions and discovery calls to uncover the core problem behind the initial request. Communicate effectively in the client’s industry and business language, ensuring research aligns with their strategic goals. Proposal Strategy and Development Support development of high-quality proposals by translating client problems into clear research approaches and solution frameworks. Design research scopes, methodologies, and deliverable structures for new engagements. Contribute to proposal narratives that clearly articulate value, insights, and expected outcomes for the client. Research Strategy and Problem Structuring Convert broad or ambiguous client questions into clear research frameworks and investigation strategies. Design structured research approaches combining multiple intelligence sources and methodologies. Project Leadership Lead research engagements from problem framing through final insight delivery. Guide internal research teams conducting analysis and ensure quality and rigor of outputs. Ensure project execution remains aligned with client expectations and timelines. Multidisciplinary Research Oversight Provide strategic direction across research domains including: Technology and innovation intelligence Market research and industry analysis Opportunity and strategic evaluation Primary research and expert interviews Product and solution benchmarking While the candidate should be well-versed in these areas through prior hands-on experience, the role focuses on defining the approach and synthesizing insights rather than executing each research task individually. Insight Development and Storytelling Synthesize technical, market, and competitive signals into clear strategic insights. Translate research findings into narratives that support innovation and strategic decision-making. Ensure insights are communicated in ways that resonate with business leaders and industry stakeholders. Required Skills and Capabilities: Client Understanding Ability to quickly grasp the industry dynamics, commercial context, and strategic objectives of clients. Structured Problem Solving Strong capability to convert ambiguous questions into clear analytical frameworks and research strategies. Research Methodology Expertise Familiarity with multiple research approaches including technology intelligence, market research, primary research, and competitive analysis. Insight Synthesis Ability to combine diverse signals into clear, high-impact insights for decision makers. Client Communication Confidence in leading discussions, asking the right questions, and explaining insights in language that resonates with buyers and industry professionals. Proposal Development Ability to contribute to proposal design, scope definition, and solution articulation for new client opportunities. Project Leadership Experience managing complex research engagements and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. Ideal Background: 8-15 years of experience in areas such as: Innovation or technology consulting Strategic research or technology intelligence Market research and opportunity analysis Competitive or IP intelligence Product or technology strategy Prior hands-on experience conducting research across technology, market, and competitive intelligence domains. Experience interacting with corporate clients or senior stakeholders is strongly preferred.
