Job Description

Job Purpose - To lead and manage the mine planning function across all time horizons (short, medium, and long term), ensuring optimal resource utilization, operational efficiency, and alignment with business strategy, while maintaining safety, environmental, and statutory compliance. Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Strategic Planning - Develop and implement long-term mine plans aligned with business objectives and resource optimization. - Evaluate and integrate geological, geotechnical, and economic data into planning models. - Lead feasibility studies and life-of-mine (LOM) planning initiatives. Operational Planning - Oversee short-term and medium-term mine planning to ensure production targets are met. - Coordinate with operations, geology, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of plans with actual execution. - Monitor and adjust plans based on operational feedback and changing conditions. Technical Leadership - Provide technical guidance on mine design, scheduling, and equipment selection. - Ensure the use of advanced mine planning software and tools (e.g., Surpac, MineSched, Datamine). - Drive innovation in planning processes and technology adoption. Compliance & Safety - Ensure all mine plans comply with statutory regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols. - Collaborate with HSE teams to integrate safety considerations into mine designs and schedules. Team Management - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mine planners and engineers. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence. Stakeholder Engagement - Liaise with senior management, regulatory bodies, and external consultants. - Present planning scenarios, risk assessments, and investment justifications to stakeholders. Skills & Knowledge: Essential: 1. B E/ B Tech in Mining Engineering 2. Proficient in mineral province analysis, resource and reserve estimation, conceptual pit. 3. Designing, long and short term mine planning with grade control process & scheduling. Desirable: 1. 1st Class Certificate of Competency from DGMS. 2. Statutory Data Compilation and Compliances Total Years of Experience About 16-22 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
