Drive System & Propulsion LeadEXP - 15 + yearsLocation; BangalorePosition SummaryThe Drive System & Propulsion Lead owns the design, integration, and performance of the Jaunt Cargo aircraft’s propulsion and drive systems. This role leads architecture from rotor hub through propulsors, ensuring performance, reliability, durability, and certification readiness across VTOL, transition, and cruise flight regimes.Key ResponsibilitiesLead propulsion and drive system architecture, including rotors, propellers, motors, hubs, and mechanical interfacesDefine propulsion system requirements and interfaces with flight controls, power systems, actuation, structures, and airframeLead aerodynamic, structural, fatigue, and acoustic design of slowed rotors and wing-mounted propulsorsOwn rotor hub and propulsion mechanical system design, including load paths, bearings, and pitch mechanismsSupport propulsion-related actuation system integration and control interfacesLead fatigue, fracture, and durability analysis; define life limits and inspection criteriaIntegrate motors, ESCs, sensors, and protections in coordination with electrical and power teamsLead propulsion performance, dynamics, and torsional analysisSupport bench, ground, and flight testing; analyze test data and drive design improvementsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline15+ years total engineering experience, including 5+ years in propulsion, rotorcraft, or drive systemsStrong experience with rotors/propellers, mechanical drive systems, and fatigue & fracture analysisExperience supporting propulsion and flight testing preferredPrior aircraft or advanced aerospace program experience required
