Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned, hands-on Lead DBA / Database Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platforms. This role blends database engineering, cloud infrastructure, automation, and reliability engineering, working closely with cross-functional teams to run large-scale, fault-tolerant systems on Google Cloud.What You’ll DoLead design, implementation, and operations of highly available, scalable database systemsOwn production stability, performance tuning, scalability, and reliabilityWork hands-on with SQL & MongoDB (schema design, optimization, sharding, replication)Automate database and infrastructure operations using Shell, Python, and TerraformDefine & track SLOs / SLIs, and proactively mitigate reliability risksEvaluate system architectures to identify bottlenecks and failure pointsPartner with Security teams on compliance, vulnerability management, and incident responseDrive performance, cost optimization, and operational excellenceMaintain strong documentation and promote knowledge sharingTroubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in distributed systemsRequired Skills & Experience8+ years of experience in DBA / Database EngineeringStrong expertise in SQL (design, indexing, tuning)Deep hands-on experience with MongoDB (aggregation, replication, sharding)Strong scripting skills: Shell, Python, TerraformSolid Google Cloud experience (Cloud SQL, HA/DR, monitoring)Experience supporting mission-critical production systemsExposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deploymentsExperience installing and troubleshooting Java applicationsNice to HaveBachelor’s degree in computer science / engineeringExperience with distributed systems, HA architectures & capacity planningFamiliarity with ML/AI concepts for automation, anomaly detection, or predictive maintenanceIf you enjoy solving complex system challenges and building reliable, scalable platforms—we’d love to hear from you!
