Job Title: Mechanical EngineerExperience: 4 YearsLocation: BangaloreWork Mode: Work from OfficeAbout the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with around 4 years of experience in a hardware product-based environment, preferably within a startup. This role requires a hands-on professional who can contribute across the full product development lifecycle and translate concepts into manufacturable designs.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorksCreate detailed 2D drawings with GD&T as per ASME Y14.5 standardsApply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles for sheet metal and machined partsSelect and integrate machine elements such as gears, bearings, and linear motion systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including electronics, manufacturing, and suppliersSupport product prototyping, testing, and validationEnsure designs meet performance, reliability, and cost requirementsDrive product improvements based on testing results and field feedbackManage design documentation, revisions, and data (experience with PDM tools is a plus)Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering4 years of experience in a hardware product-based company (startup experience preferred)Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, and drawings)Good understanding of DFM for sheet metal and machining processesStrong fundamentals in machine design, including:Gear selection and designBearing selectionLinear motion systems (rails, guides, actuators)Ability to create manufacturing-ready drawings as per ASME Y14.5Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly techniquesExposure to product design considerations such as:Thermal analysisVibrationIngress protection (IP ratings)Understanding of fatigue and failure modesPreferred QualificationsExperience working in a startup or fast-paced product development environmentHands-on experience with prototyping and testingFamiliarity with SolidWorks PDM or similar toolsKey SkillsStrong problem-solving and analytical abilitiesHigh attention to detail in design and documentationAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teamsEffective communication and documentation skillsWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on end-to-end product developmentA fast-paced, collaborative work environmentHigh ownership with direct impact on real-world hardware products
