Job Description: Payroll SpecialistLocation: Bangalore; for projects across India (Travel as needed)About Varahe Analytics:Varahe Analytics is India’s leading political consulting firm, delivering data-driven, on-ground, and strategic solutions that shape electoral outcomes across India.About this Role:We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage seamless payroll execution across a multi-location workforce. You will ensure accurate salary processing, compliance, timely statutory filing, and strong coordination across HR, Finance, and field teams.This is a high-accuracy, high-impact role critical to employee experience and organisational credibility.What Would This Role Entail?Ensure end-to-end monthly payroll processing for full-time, contractual, field, and project roles, maintaining secure documentation and ensuring data integrity of payroll records.Validate attendance, working hours, LOAs, and LOP inputs from HR and field teams.Reconcile payroll with onboarding/exits, transfers, role changes, and contractor movements.Process variable pay, bonuses, and settlement calculations.Partner with HR Operations to manage employee master data updates in HRMS.Handle employee queries related to salary, taxation, payslips and settlements.Ensure statutory compliance with income tax deductions.Work with Finance for salary disbursement & payroll reconciliation.Coordinate with vendors/agencies for payroll software, compliance filings, and employee benefit schemes.Generate payroll reports, dashboards, variance analyses, and audit logs.Support year-end activities, including Form 16, tax declarations, and investment proof validations.Improve payroll processes, automation, and accuracy through technology and SOPs.Mitigate risks by identifying gaps in input, compliance, and documentation workflows.Necessary Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, HR, Accounting, or related field.6–12 years’ experience in payroll, compensation, or HR operations.Hands-on experience with payroll systems, HRIS, and statutory reporting.Sound understanding of payroll compliance including TDS and labour laws.Strong command of Excel/Google Sheets for payroll calculations, MIS, and reconciliation.Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, and problem-solving capability.Ability to partner with HR, Finance, and field teams under tight deadlines.⭐ Bonus: Experience managing payroll for distributed/field teams or project-based organisations.Benefits & Perks:Health Insurance coverageFinancial Wellness via Jiffy (tax planning, budgeting, advisory)Flexible Working HoursOpportunity to work in a fast-scaling, high-impact organisationOwnership, autonomy, and exposure across HR, Finance & leadership teamsApply Now:
