We are looking for a commercially sharp Buyer to lead sourcing of fabrics and trims for a fast-paced, made-to-order fashion business. This role is critical in ensuring the right materials are sourced at the right cost, quality, and speed, enabling scalable and efficient production.Key ResponsibilitiesFabric Sourcing & DevelopmentSource fabrics across woven and knit categories aligned to design and cost requirementsIdentify and develop suppliers for:Base fabrics (core library)Trend-driven fabrics (prints, textures, finishes)Work closely with design and production teams to ensure correct fabric selection (look, feel, fall, durability)Trims & Components BuyingSource trims including zippers, buttons, elastics, laces, and interliningsDrive standardization of trims across categories to reduce complexity and improve speedEnsure availability of trims aligned with production timelinesVendor ManagementBuild and manage a strong network of fabric mills and trim suppliersNegotiate pricing, MOQs, and lead times to meet business targetsEstablish backup vendors for critical materialsMaintain strong vendor relationships to ensure priority and reliabilityCosting & Margin OptimizationOwn raw material cost benchmarks across categoriesContinuously identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising qualityWork backwards from target price points to define material choicesSupply Planning & SpeedEnsure timely availability of materials for sampling and productionReduce lead times through vendor coordination and material planningSupport fast turnaround cycles required for a trend-led businessQuality ControlEvaluate and approve fabrics and trims based on:GSM consistencyColor fastnessShrinkage and durabilityWork with vendors to resolve quality issues and maintain standardsInventory StrategyDefine and manage strategy for:Stocked core materialsOn-demand sourcing for trend-based designsBalance inventory risk with speed-to-market requirementsIdeal Candidate Profile4–10 years of experience in fabric/trims sourcing, buying, or production merchandisingStrong understanding of fabric types, trims, and garment constructionEstablished vendor network within Indian textile ecosystem preferredExperience in fast fashion, export houses, or D2C brands is a plusStrong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment About Us: We’re building an AI-first fashion company rethinking how people discover and experience style.
