Vice President Compensation & Benefits and HR OperationsActivitiesThe AVP - Comp & Benefits and HR Operations position is responsible to lead and govern the end-to-end Total Rewards, Payroll, and HR Operations ecosystem, ensuring seamless, compliant, and scalable people processes aligned to business strategy.Key Responsibilities•Compensation & Total Rewards: Define compensation philosophy, salary structures, merit cycles, incentives (VPI/VCS), and benchmarking across 11 entities (570+ employees, expats); drive India compensation campaigns and leadership analytics.•Payroll Governance: Oversee accurate and compliant payroll for 570+ employees; manage payroll budget, controls, audits, expat payroll, and Finance alignment.•Benefits Management: Design and optimize insurance, retirement, gratuity, and welfare programs; lead vendor negotiations and claims governance.•HR Operations: Own end-to-end employee lifecycle, HRIS integrity, SOPs, controls, and process digitization.•Statutory Compliance: Ensure compliance across 8+ states and 15+ labor statutes; manage filings, audits, inspections, and documentation.•Financial Reporting & Governance: Deliver people cost analytics, dashboards, manpower forecasting, and execute annual capital increases.•Technology & Process Excellence: Drive automation, system integration, and continuous improvement across C&B, payroll, and HR operations.•Stakeholder Management: Act as central liaison with leadership, Finance, Audit, Legal, regional/global teams, and external partners.•People Leadership: Lead and develop C&B, Payroll, and HR Operations teams; build capability, governance discipline, and service excellence.PurposeAVP Compensation and Benefits strategizes, plans, designs, and oversees the organization’s complete remuneration ecosystem. The role partners with senior leadership to define the overall remuneration strategy and ensures that all Total Rewards components — salary structures, variable bonuses, incentive schemes, job evaluation, employee welfare, and retirement plans—are competitive, compliant, and aligned with business priorities.In a highly competitive Indian market marked by intense talent competition, this role drives and strengthens the organization’s position as an employer of choice by designing, developing, and optimizing competitive and cost efficient Total Rewards programs. The role enables and sustains high performance, talent retention, and market attractiveness by ensuring that compensation, benefits, payroll governance, and employee operations are robust, compliant, and strategically aligned with business priorities.•Design, build, and communicate Total Rewards programs, policies, processes, and frameworks that support long term HR strategyand business objectives.•Conduct and analyze internal and external market research to evaluate compensation and benefits competitiveness, relevance, and financial sustainability.•Ensure and execute timely, accurate, and compliant payroll operations in alignment with tax, statutory, and employee welfare requirements for both local and expatriate employees.•Safeguard compliance with statutory laws, labor regulations, and welfare schemes, while strengthening internal controls and governance standards.•Lead, prioritize, and oversee delivery across all Compensation & Benefits programs, ensuring effective communication, issue resolution, and cross functional collaboration.•Monitor and report outcomes, trends, and insights to leadership to support data driven planning and decision making.Qualification / Experience requiredQualification level required for the position: Master’s or equivalent levelTechnical skills required for the position: Comp Strategy & Design: Pay philosophy, salary structures, job architecture, leveling frameworks, market positioning. Incentive Programs: Annual bonus (VPI), Sales incentives (VCS), LTI/retention constructs, plan governance and payout modeling. Benchmarking & Market Data: Survey participation and interpretation (e.g., Mercer, Aon, Willis Towers Watson), pay equity analyses, internal parity. Merit & Budgeting: Annual increase cycles, comp review workflows, budget modeling, guardrails, and governance packs. Payroll Operations: India payroll end to end (CTC architecture, FBP, taxation, deductions), expat payroll interfaces, off cycles, reconciliations. Employee Lifecycle (E2E): Onboarding to exit, confirmations, transfers, org changes, data stewardship. HRIS & Data: HRMS/HRIS configuration SuccessFactors etc.Behavioral competencies required for the position: Stakeholder Management: Navigate Mancom, HRBPs, Finance, Audit, Legal, Global/Regional COE; balance compliance vs business pace. Contracting: Reviewing broker/TPA SLAs, penalty clauses, renewals. Statutory & Compliance (India, multi state).Level of experience required for the position : MBA in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA HR preferred. 15-20 years of experience in Compensation & Benefits; payroll/accounting exposure is an added advantage.
