Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure & MaintenanceOversee maintenance of buildings, classrooms, laboratories, hostels, libraries, sports facilities, and administrative areas.Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal maintenance teams.Ensure uptime of critical services (power, water supply, internet, lifts, fire systems).Campus Operations ManagementManage housekeeping, sanitation, and waste management (including compliance with Swachh Bharat guidelines).Oversee landscaping and horticulture activities to maintain green and clean campus standards.Ensure proper functioning of transport facilities, parking areas, and campus mobility services.Safety, Security & ComplianceEnsure compliance with Indian statutory requirements such asFire safety norms (NBC 2016, local fire authority permissions)Pollution Control Board normsElectrical safety standardsLabour law compliance for outsourced staffOversee campus security operations, CCTV monitoring, access control, and emergency response systems.Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and disaster preparedness drills.Vendor & Contract ManagementManage service contracts related to housekeeping, security, landscaping, transportation, and maintenance.Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to SLAs.Prepare and monitor budgets for facility-related operations.Energy & Sustainability ManagementImplement energy-saving initiatives, green campus practices, and sustainable operations.Monitor utility consumption (water, electricity, DG sets) and undertake efficiency improvement projects.Promote renewable energy use such as solar installations.Stakeholder CoordinationLiaise with university administration, faculty, hostel wardens, and student bodies to address facility-related needs.Coordinate event support including seating, sound systems, lighting, and venue preparation.Maintain transparent communication channels for complaint resolution.Documentation & ReportingMaintain records of AMC contracts, statutory licenses, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.Prepare monthly/quarterly reports on infrastructure performance, budget utilization, and ongoing projects.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential QualificationsBachelors degree in any discipline (however, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) or Facility Management shall be preferred).3–5 years of relevant experience in facilities management; experience in educational institutions preferred.Desirable QualificationsPost Graduate Degree in managementCertification in Facility Management (e.g., IFMA, FMSI)Experience in a higher-education or large-campus environment or multi-building facilitiesKnowledge of ERP systems or campus management toolsProven leadership and supervisory experience.Key SkillsStrong leadership and team managementKnowledge of Indian statutory compliance and safety normsVendor negotiation and contract managementProblem-solving and decision-makingExcellent communication and coordination skillsBudgeting and project managementWorking ConditionsCampus-based role with occasional extended or weekend hours during events, inspections, or emergencies.Coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders.Skills & CompetenciesExcellent organizational, coordination skills and Data-driven decision makingLeadership and team management with Strong analytical and reporting abilities.Operational planning and coordination & High integrity and attention to detail.Ability to work with diverse stakeholders—students, staff, contractors and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Safety and compliance focusCrisis and incident managementNegotiation and vendor management
