Job Description

*Purpose/ObjectiveResponsible for purchasing and storage of spares / consumables, identification/negotiation/issue/renewal/closure of contracts, managing inventory, developing, and implementing best purchasing practices in procurement, storage, and inventory control.*Key Responsibilities of RoleDevelop a database of reliable, consistent, and economical vendors and establish an effective vendor management system using the same.Ensure supply contracts are issued/ renewed on time at the optimal price level.Implement Purchase and Stores best practices (SOPs) to achieve efficient and effective purchasing and storage procedures.Ensure optimal cost of materials/services w.r.t other ports and market benchmark levels. Review consumption of major consumables and spares and take necessary actionsEnsure compliance with quality, legal, financial and safety norms in purchase contracts.Provide timely and prompt response to internal customers on Commercial issuesDevelop potential successor through mentoring/coaching and quarterly feedback processMonitor compliance of all purchasing and storage processes to IMSEnsure Safe and secure storage of material, spares, and consumables.Prepare and circulate monthly MIS for Purchase and stores departmentDevelop vendors quality through periodic vendor evaluation and user feedback.Ensure optimal inventory levels of all material, spares, consumables. Review inventory levels periodically and take necessary actionsCoordinate with purchase and stores departments of all APSEZ Vertical locations, to felicitate knowledge sharing and best commercial practices at Dahej.Receive feedback from internal customers & ensure that customer complains/suggestion are addressed in timely mannerMotivate employees through coaching, training, recognition, and performance managementEducation Qualification:Bachelor's degree in engineering with a Master's degree preferred in business administration, supply chainmanagement, operations, finance or a related areaWork Experience:More than 10 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement with minimum 3 year experience in a similar role of leading Procurement function in a large/ mid-sized Organization
