Role DescriptionAs a Secondary Engineer for substations, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing secondary systems for high-voltage substations. Your day-to-day tasks include preparing electrical schematics, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient power solutions. This is a full-time, remote position.You will play a crucial role in designing, and optimizing protection relay systems and control systems for components for EHV/HV substations. This role involves engaging in secondary engineering activities (Control & Protection, Substation Automation Systems, Interface Engineering, Telecom Requirements & LV Auxiliary Systems for EHV/HV Electrical Substations (AIS / GIS / HVDC / STATCOM / Onshore / Offshore / Renewable/etc.,)The candidate shall execute with association of workgroups, where applicable, in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role, the candidate will work within defined parameters to draw conclusions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Specific Role RequirementsDesign and prepare Engineering drawings (SLD/diagrams/terminals/bill of materials) as per project requirement in anyone of E-CAD Tool (Ex. AutoCAD Electrical/Bluebeam/equivalent) for up to 400/765kV Substations.Design Network drawings and need to interface with Telecom Equipment.Review equipment drawings of major Substation Equipment for AIS / GIS like Circuit breakers, Isolators, Earth switches, CSD, PDM, Transformers/Reactors & associated Conditional Monitoring Devices etc.,Design the LV/LT auxiliary systems for Electrical Substations and interface with the SAS/SCADA.QualificationsStrong knowledge of Electrical Design and expertise in designing secondary systems for substationsUnderstanding of electricity principles and experience in Power Systems and Power DistributionBachelor’s (or) master’s degree in electrical engineering or IT with a minor en Electrical engineering or Telecommunications with a minor in Electrical engineering.Proficiency with Microsoft applications, especially MS Excel, scripts, etc.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailRelevant professional experience in high-voltage systems or similar fields is an advantageProficiency in industry-standard software for electrical design is a plusDesired CharacteristicsStrong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, responsive and supervision skills. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to manage programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Fluent in EnglishAdd-on Competency (Optional)Software skills, soft programming skills
