This role blends operational excellence, and product influence, ensuring best service delivery while shaping next-generation optimisation solutions.Task & Responsibilities:1.Voyage Optimization & Service DeliveryMonitor end-to-end voyage optimisation across the fleet, ensuring safety, fuel efficiency, and schedule reliabilityEnsure deliver high-quality weather routing, voyage planning, and decision support within SLA timelinesProvide real-time advisory to Masters and Operators during dynamic voyage conditionsIntervene directly on complex or high-risk voyages2.24/7 Operations LeadershipLead and manage a 24/7/365 routing desk with full accountability for service continuityOwn shift planning, workload distribution, and escalation protocolsEnsure consistent delivery standards across all shifts3. Team Leadership & Capability BuildingLead, coach, and develop a team of routingDrive performance management, training, and certification standardsBuild a strong talent pipeline and retention strategyFoster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement4. Customer & Commercial ImpactAct as a trusted advisor to clients, translating data into actionable voyage decisionsSupport commercial teams with client engagement, onboarding, and value demonstrationEnsure delivery of measurable outcomes: Fuel savings, Emissions reduction, Voyage reliability5. Process Excellence & SOP GovernanceDefine and continuously improve routing SOPs and operational frameworksStandardise best practices across vessels, routes, and cargo typesDrive quality assurance and audit mechanisms6. Product & Technology CollaborationWork closely with product and software teams to:Improve routing algorithms, Enhance decision-support tools, Integrate vessel performance and weather dataAct as the voice of operations in product roadmap discussionsLeverage analytics to identify optimisation opportunitiesQualification & Experience:Master Mariner with 2-3 years shore experience in voyage optimisation / fleet performance ORSenior Meteorologist with demonstrated experience in marine forecasting, voyage planning, and decision support for maritime operations.Knowledge & Skills:Deep understanding of: Voyage optimisation , weather routing, Marine meteorology and ocean conditionsStrong foundational knowledge in at least one of the following: Geography, Oceanography or Marine Meteorology.Working knowledge of: Fuel optimisation & vessel performance analyticsDigital routing platforms / decision-support toolsExposure to algorithm-based or automated routing systems preferredStrong team player with high cultural awareness and the ability to collaborate effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.Proven ability to lead 24/7 operational teamsStrong decision-making under uncertainty and time pressureExcellent stake holder managementHigh ownership mindset with a commercial and customer-first approach
