All associates at Marriott Tech Accelerator will be ANSR employees, delivering services exclusively to ANSR's client, Marriott International.Role Title: Senior Engineering ManagerPosition Summary:We are seeking highly motivated and engaged technical leader to oversees research, design and development around GraphQL API Platform, while leading continuous improvement on process definition and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in JavaScript/Typescript background. Directly manages software engineers and project managers. Leads the interactions with consuming digital teams as well as domain teams to create define solutions that fit the needs and the architecture. Delivers on commitments to discipline partners and collaborates with architects on major organizational initiatives across multiple channels & platform. Functions as the technical decision-maker and problem solver to deliver projects on time and on budget. Promotes project quality and manages the application development team to promote satisfaction with all technology teams and business partners by following standard application development tools and processes. Manages continuous improvement program to improve quality, consistency, and client satisfaction.Job Responsibilities:Managing Application Development Standards, Processes, and Tools:Works with direct reports to facilitate consistency of service delivery across client groups.Facilitates compliance with the standard set of application development tools and processes that will drive consistency and predictability throughout the SDLC for all client groups including.SDLC standard tools and processes for both waterfall and agile development.Estimating standard tools and processes, incorporating flexibility for small and large projects.Deployment standard tools and processes.Monitors projects for adherence to defined application development processes.Communicates to Application Development leaders' opportunities to create broader IT related and corporate standards and policies where necessaryCommunicates important application development policy changes that affect service provider and/or Marriott operations.MANAGEMENT COMPETENCIES:Leadership:Communication - Conveys information and ideas to others in a convincing and engaging manner through a variety of methods.Leading Through Vision and Values - Keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of employee decision making and action.Managing Change - Initiates and/or manages the change process and energizes it on an ongoing basis, taking steps to remove barriers or accelerate its pace; successfully led medium- to large-scale initiatives.Technical Expertise:8+ years in system architecture and development.5+ years delivering TypeScript/JavaScript projects.3+ years working with GraphQL.Deep experience with API platforms, backend services, databases, and full-stack infrastructure.Strong understanding of containerization (e.g., Node.js apps), DevOps, CI/CD, observability tools, SEO, Service Mesh, REST APIs, and microservices.Hands-on with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure); AWS Solutions Architect Certified.Experience with CMS platforms, automation testing, performance engineering, and application deployments.Architectural & Integration Skills:Strong grasp of integration patterns, cloud-native solutions, and orchestration architecturesExpertise in managing multi-channel and backend integrationsAgile & SDLC Methodologies:Proven management in Agile (SAFe preferred) and Waterfall environmentsKnowledge of SDLC and ITIL v3Contributions to open-source projectsProcess & Strategy:Strategic planning, budgeting, and vendor management experienceBackground in IT outsourcing and managed servicesCommunication & Stakeholder Management:Skilled in translating complex technical concepts for business leaders and enterprise architectsStrong interpersonal and influencing skills;
