Business Development Role - Renewable Energy Consultancy - CleantechThe employee will serve as part of the India’s National Sales organization and is responsible for helping future-Clients succeed by leading them on their RE 100 goals and working collaboratively with customers to develop Solutions and Business Cases focused on Renewable Energy Advisory Services.The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of Physical and Virtual Power Purchase Agreements. (Third Party, Group Captive etc) and have problem solving approach.Additionally, you will research, define and target specific market segments as assigned to enable a high level of sales success with targeted clients and prospects. Integrity, vision, passion and ability to excel in a collaborative sales environment are essential for this role.What do you get to do in this position?Establish new business opportunities with targeted segments and accounts through prospecting, networking, qualifying and closing techniques.Prospecting and converting leads into profitable and ongoing business relationshipsWorking with Schneider Electric’s portfolio of offerings to develop customized solutions that address the customer’s business needsUnderstand customer long-term strategic business needs and increase level of contact– higher and wider – within customer’s organization to allow for selling of new opportunities.Effectively advise clients on Schneider Electric’s software, services and product offeringsOwn the complete sales cycle.Negotiating and closing contracts for Renewable Energy Advisory Consultancy.Collaboration with colleagues, including sales, marketing and operations teams, on ways to continuously improve offerings and go to market strategiesWork collaboratively with customers to develop Solutions and Business Cases that incorporate ESS Services including Schneider’s award-winning Resource Advisor™ SaaMS offeringsCommunicate and interact with business decision-makers at all levels to identify needs and requirements as well as market opportunitiesClose an agreed upon number of sales and revenue per yearMaintain prospect (CRM – ) database information Essential Skills and QualificationsQualificationsThis position is ideal for someone who has been successful in a related industry and/or sales position, and who is looking for a new and exciting opportunity to grow into a top performer with Schneider Sustainability Business. This position enables the successful candidate to have a transition path and plan into a Client Development Manager position.Demonstrated experience selling professional services in the energy or renewable industries to industrial and/or commercial clients; experience and knowledge from working within the energy, sustainability or environmental industry is preferred.Self-starter; able to rapidly comprehend client demands and Schneider Electric solutions, and to align the two to ensure sales performance at or above assigned levels.Proven track record of being successful in all elements of a consultative sales roleAbility and willingness to perform tasks related to lead generation, when needed, to fill the pipelinePersistence in follow up of leads and movement of prospects through the sales cycleInterfacing and presenting to all management levels at Fortune 500 companiesPrior experience working with complex sales cycles (up to 6 months)Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Computer literate in a Microsoft Office environment (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systemBachelor’s degree requiredWe seek people who are straightforward, open, passionate, effective and challenging the status quo.
