Ltd.Job SummaryFlybots Tech Services is looking for a passionate and hands-on Composite Engineer to join our core technical team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end fabrication of high-performance UAV structures. The ideal candidate must be an expert in oven curing processes and possess a deep understanding of advanced materials like Carbon Fiber, Fiberglass, and Wood composites. Key ResponsibilitiesFabrication & Layup: Perform precision Hand Layup and Pre-preg lamination for drone airframes and components.Oven Curing (Primary Focus): Manage the entire Oven Curing Cycle, including vacuum bagging, ramp-up/soak/cool-down timing, and monitoring thermal profiles to ensure structural integrity.Pattern & Mold Making: Design and develop high-quality patterns and molds. Experience in surface finishing and mold release application is essential.Design Support: Collaborate with the design team using SolidWorks to ensure parts are optimized for manufacturability (DFM).Material Selection: Work with Carbon Fiber (3K/12K, Uni-directional), Fiberglass, and sandwich core materials (Wood/Balsa/Honeycomb).Quality Control: Inspect cured parts for defects like delamination, voids, or warping, and implement corrective actions. Technical Skills RequiredMolding Techniques: Expertise in open molding, vacuum bagging, and compression molding.Software: Proficiency in SolidWorks for mold design and layout planning.Material Science: Strong understanding of resin systems (Epoxy/Vinyl Ester) and fiber-to-resin ratios.Tooling: Experience with power tools for trimming, drilling, and finishing composite parts. QualificationsEducation: Diploma, B.Tech, or M.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Polymer/Composite Engineering.Experience: 1–3 years of on-shop-floor experience.
