About The Business Tata Semiconductor Assembly & Test (TSAT) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing in IC & SMT Packages. Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Packaging facility. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence. TSAT is a subsidiary of the Tata group. Substrate Sourcing & Supplier Management: - Identify, evaluate, and onboard global and local substrate suppliers for BT, FR‑4, ABF and advanced package substrates. - Drive dual‑sourcing and risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity Manage supplier RFQs, cost breakdowns, and commercial negotiations in coordination with commercial SCM 2.Technical Evaluation & Qualification - Lead substrate technical reviews covering: - Layer count, line/space rules Via structures, surface finish - Warpage, CTE, Tg, reliability parameters - Coordinate substrate qualification with NPI, Process Engineering, SQE, and Reliability teams - Support package‑specific substrate selection (BGA, LFBGA, FC, SiP) 3. NPI & Program Support - Support new product introductions (NPI) by ensuring timely substrate readiness - Participate in design‑to‑manufacturing alignment between substrate suppliers and internal teams - Track substrate readiness, risks, and action items during development and ramp 4. Supplier Development & Localization - Drive supplier capability and limitation studies for substrates - Support localization / India manufacturing initiatives, including feasibility studies for JV, FDI, or local partners - Work with suppliers on capacity scaling, yield improvement, and cost optimization Essential Attributes - Negotiation & Cost Optimization - Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate with engineering, finance, and operations teams to align procurement with business goals. - Problem-Solving: Quick resolution of supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and delivery delays. - Communication: Clear point of view in contract & price discussions, supplier meetings, and executive updates - Experience in Substrate and material. - Knowledge of incoterms, customs, logistics, and import/export regulations. - Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Ariba) and e-sourcing tools. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Semiconductor), Supply Chain, or Business Administration. - CIPS or CPSM will have added advantage Desired Experience Level - 3-8 years of experience in Substrate handling & technical capabilities to understand the requirement.
