Job Description

Purpose of the positionThe Head of Accounting is accountable for the end-to-end accounting of 21+ corporate and holding entities (including the country HoldCo), leading a team of ~16 professionals. Beyond ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely financial reporting under local GAAP, Ind AS and IFRS, the role is expected to lead the transformation of Finance function in line with ENGIE Group standards. In a context of rapid growth and increasing scale, the Head of Accounting will act as a key change leader, driving ERP harmonization, process standardization, automation and strengthening of internal controls through the deployment of the Group core finance model. The role requires strong leadership, systems expertise and the ability to manage change while maintaining operational excellence. Key activities and competenciesStrategicContribute to the legal, tax, and financial structuring of business development activities.Provide initial technical advice on IFRS/ Ind AS/Tax subjects.Act as a key Finance stakeholder in Group transformation initiatives (ERP harmonization, core model deployment, process standardization).OperationalManage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and treasury.Prepare statutory financial statements for group companies and holding entities.Ensure direct and indirect tax returns are filed on time.Review of monthly MIS & presentation to senior managementPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Group reporting.Ensure business continuity while major system and process changes are deployed.Transformation & Process excellenceLead the accounting workstream of ERP transformation programs (SAP or equivalent), in alignment with Group Finance core model.Drive harmonization and standardization of accounting processes, master data and controls across entities.Strengthen automation, digitalization and straight-through processing to support scalability.Act as a change agent: anticipate impacts, support teams through transition and embed new ways of working.Organisational and GovernanceEnsure that financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with accounting standards.Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including direct and indirect tax.Ensure that internal controls are in place and operating effectively.Contribute actively in the transformation of the Finance through Automation, digitalization, process and control.Propose new way of working to improve efficiencies and processEmbed standardized policies, procedures and documentation in line with Group requirements.Planning & Delivery of WorkProvide financial analysis and advice to senior management to support decision-making.Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations.Manage the relationship with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.Be responsible for the delivery of work to ensure the right level of quality and timeliness.InterfaceLead, mentor and upskill the accounting team, with a strong focus on capability building in systems, processes and change management.Work closely with FP&A, Tax, IT, Legal, Business Development and Group Finance teams during transformation phases.Manage external stakeholders like auditors, advisor, tax authorities, partner
