If you’re ready to create meaningful change and build your future, CIBC India is where your ambition meets opportunity.What You’ll Be Doing (Position Summary):The Operations Specialist – Reconciliation is responsible for executing and overseeing complex reconciliations of client account cash and share positions This role ensures the accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of reconciliation breaks, supporting operational excellence and superior client experience The incumbent proactively drives process improvements, supports compliance requirements, and delivers actionable insights to management, contributing to CIBC’s operational objectives.At CIBC India we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role Details on your work arrangement (including on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.How You’ll Succeed (Responsibilities):KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:Execute end-to-end reconciliation processes for client accounts, including cash and securities, across multiple systems.Analyze discrepancies and develop solutions for breaks, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.Conduct detailed research and analysis of reconciliation data to identify root causes and recommend process improvements.Prepare and deliver regular reports to management, highlighting volumes, outstanding issues, and actionable insights.Maintain ongoing communication with internal departments, providing detailed explanations of account breaks and tracking progress on resolutions.Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to optimize operational workflows and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.Document findings and analysis in a clear, structured manner for internal use and knowledge sharing.Stay informed about relevant CIBC products, services, and technological advancements; proactively update procedural and technical knowledge.Leaders of the supported SBUs and LOBs.COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines and controls.AUTHORITIES/DECISION RIGHTS:JOB DIMENSIONS:Experience: 3+ years of experience.As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.Oversees and processes a high volume of complex financial and non-financial reconciliations across multiple platforms, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely issue resolution.Conducts advanced data analysis and reporting to support operational decision-making and process improvement initiatives.Manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, balancing independent tasks with collaborative responsibilities.Maintains detailed records and documentation of all reconciliation activities and findings, supporting audit and compliance requirements.Who You Are (Skills / Qualifications):Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.3+ years of experience in financial operations, with a focus on complex reconciliations and data analysis.Professional or technical qualifications relevant to financial operations and reconciliation are preferred.Proficiency in English (written and verbal).Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex spreadsheets and macro development for process automation.Strong financial market knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements.Experience with reconciliation platforms such as CGI W360 and BFS is highly desirable.Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize large datasets.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.What CIBC India Offers:At CIBC India, your goals are a priority.
