This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a blend of sophisticated financial structuring, strategic deal sourcing, and a deep commitment to sustainability.Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Growth: Collaborate with senior leadership to build and expand SIMA’s business units, specifically focusing on double-bottom-line impact funds.Fund Structuring & Research: Oversee primary and secondary market research to design and structure innovative funds that push the boundaries of impact investing.Deal Sourcing & Relationship Management: Lead the team in identifying a high-quality pipeline; build and maintain strong relationships with borrowers and target companies.Investment Lifecycle Management: Take full responsibility for fund deployment, portfolio management, and on-site due diligence within emerging markets.Equity Expansion: Help create and scale SIMA’s equity fund management business while maintaining excellence in financial analysis.Capital Raising: Support fundraising efforts by engaging with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), foundations, and institutional investors.Collateral Development: Co-create essential templates, pitch books, and marketing materials for both fundraising and deployment phases.Qualifications of CandidateWe are looking for a seasoned financial professional who combines technical rigor with a “salesperson” mindset and a passion for social change.Required Qualifications & ExperienceProfessional Experience: 15–20 years + of experience in equity and debt within the SME sector, ideally at a financial institution, asset manager, or alternative lender.Sector Expertise: Proven track record in renewable energy financing including commercial and industrial solar, corporate banking and emerging market lending and investing. Experience in impact investing would be preferred.Geographic Reach: Significant experience in multi-country lending with a specific focus on emerging markets.Technical Skills: Expertise in deal appraisal, financial/credit analysis, and complex fund structuring.Education: MBA from a top-tier business school; an undergraduate degree in Engineering is highly preferred.Soft SkillsLeadership: Proven ability to manage diverse teams and act as a collaborative team player.Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills for high-level stakeholder engagement.Ethics: A strong personal alignment with SIMA’s values of transparency, sustainability, and social impact.Compensation & Benefits Financial Package: Total compensation (salary and bonus) ranging from USD 170,000 to USD 270,000, paid in USD.Profit Sharing: Performance-based annual bonuses, plus specific bonuses at fund closure and placement.Long-term Incentives: Unique opportunity to gain equity ownership at the partner level.Time Off: 37 paid vacation days (inclusive of public holidays).Health: Comprehensive healthcare insurance for the employee and their family.Culture: A unique, collegial, and non-political work environment.
