Our client, a leading Indian medical technology organization is hiring a Head of Manufacturing to lead the setup and scaling of a world-class instrument manufacturing facility. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to build and stabilize manufacturing operations in a highly regulated, high-growth environment.Role OverviewThe role will own end-to-end manufacturing operations for medical instruments, including greenfield plant commissioning, industrialisation, regulatory readiness, and operational excellence. The position reports to the COO and is critical to the company’s next phase of manufacturing scale-up.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end setup and commissioning of instruments manufacturing facilityDrive industrialisation, line setup, capacity planning, and production ramp-upEstablish manufacturing processes for assembly, calibration, validation, testing, and packagingEnsure compliance with ISO 13485, GMP, and applicable medical device regulationsPartner with R&D for technology transfer and new product introductions (NPI)Implement Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and continuous improvement initiativesOwn manufacturing KPIs including OEE, FPY, productivity, cost, and quality metricsBuild and lead cross-functional teams across production, engineering, maintenance, and validationEnsure strong EHS, statutory compliance, and plant governance frameworksIdeal Candidate Profile15–20 years of manufacturing experience, with 5–7+ years in senior leadership rolesProven experience in setting up and scaling medical device, IVD, electronics, or precision instrument plantsStrong exposure to regulated manufacturing environmentsHands-on experience with process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), PFMEA, SOPs, and auditsEngineering background (Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechanical / Mechatronics); MBA (Operations) preferredA pragmatic leader who can operate effectively in centralised, execution-driven environmentsWhy This Role?Opportunity to build a manufacturing operation from the ground upStrategic leadership role in a high-impact healthcare technology businessLong-term growth potential with expanding manufacturing footprintHigh visibility role working closely with top leadership
