Job Title

As Assistant Manager R&D, you will play a key role in leading and advancing our crop breeding and product development programs. Based in Hyderabad, you’ll work closely with both our India and New Zealand teams to develop competitive, high-quality hybrids tailored for diverse market needs. Key responsibilities include driving the development and continuous improvement of crop product lines by planning, executing, and implementing strategies aligned with the company’s overall business objectives. Key Responsibilities Include - R&D Technical Management:Lead and coordinate overall crop breeding and product testing programs in India, including monitoring and supervising nurseries and trials in line with defined protocolsOversee the collection and development of new germplasm from national and international institutes, as well as commercial hybridsDevelop and implement strategies to create competitive proprietary hybrids for different market segments using advanced technologies and toolsEnsure the continuous development and delivery of innovative hybrids that strengthen Winseed’s position in the India marketManage data recording, uploading, analysis, and report preparation using company-provided toolsAnalyse breeding and trial data to identify and recommend top-performing lines and hybridsOrganise crop tours, product advancement meetings, and prepare technical reportsCollaborate closely with breeders and Product Development teams in New Zealand for knowledge sharing, technology implementation, and germplasm exchangeR&D Operations Management:Manage R&D project budgets and oversee all research farm planning and operationsCollaborate with marketing to gather product insights and stakeholder feedback through regular field visitsEnsure efficient use of resources across field and breeding programsOversee IPR protection, including timely product registration with relevant authoritiesWhat We're Looking For: MSc / PhD in genetics and plant breeding5+ years' experience in plant breeding Strong knowledge of breeding techniques and technologies, breeding processes, field trial design, agronomy, and the use of breeding toolsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesPreference will be given to candidates with experience in root crop breeding or testingLanguages:English & Hindi Apply now to
