Built on a cloud-native AWS infrastructure and backed by more than 40 years of airline industry expertise, Accelya helps airlines modernise operations, improve customer experience, and scale with confidence.Role ContextAs a Senior AI Engineer – Applied AI, you will lead the design and implementation of AI-powered capabilities across FLX ONE Cargo (F1C), focusing on embedding AI into core platform workflows and engineering systems.This role is centred on turning AI capabilities into production-grade systems at scale. You will work on integrating LLMs, retrieval systems, and AI-assisted workflows into backend services and developer tooling.You will operate as a senior individual contributor, driving technical direction for AI integrations, shaping implementation patterns, and ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with platform architecture.Hands-On AI EngineeringDesign and build scalable AI-enabled services integrated into core Cargo platform workflows.Lead implementation of AI-assisted automation across engineering and operational use cases.Drive production readiness of AI systems, balancing experimentation with reliability.Model Integration & EnablementIntegrate language models or ML components into backend services via clean APIs.Apply techniques such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and lightweight orchestration where appropriate.Ensure AI components are modular, observable, and safe to operate in production.Platform & Developer EnablementWork with engineers to adopt AI-assisted tooling that improves development speed, testing, or debugging.Collaborate with architects to ensure AI integrations align with platform standards and security expectations.Support gradual adoption of AI capabilities without disrupting core delivery.Operational ReadinessContribute to monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement of AI-enabled features.Help define basic guardrails around performance, cost, and reliability of AI components.Participate in production support and incident resolution for AI-related services.What You Must Bring5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong hands-on experience building or integrating AI/ML systems into production environments.Strong proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience working with LLMs, RAG pipelines, or AI service integration.Solid understanding of APIs, cloud services, and distributed systems.Practical mindset with a focus on building usable, reliable solutions.Nice to HaveExperience with LLM platforms or frameworks (e.g. AWS Bedrock, OpenAI APIs, LangChain).Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) or vector search concepts.Exposure to MLOps practices such as monitoring, versioning, or deployment pipelines.Experience in airline, logistics, or other data- and integration-heavy domains.Why This Role MattersAI Engineers help FLX ONE Cargo move faster by turning AI ideas into working software.
