Job Title: Healthcare - Occupational Health Physician Location: 100% Remote (offshore candidates in India, South Africa, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Czech Republic, or United Kingdom) Contract Duration: 6 months Position Purpose: The Contract Occupational Health Physician – EMEA supports the K-C OH Team by providing regional medical oversight and coordination for client sites, most of which rely primarily on third-party occupational health service providers. This role supports medical governance, consistency, and data integrity across sites by overseeing external providers, supporting the K-C OH Team with occupational health case management, reviewing health surveillance data, and ensuring effective implementation of Occupational Health Performance Standards. This position is not an Occupational Health Team Leader and does not have people management or enterprise strategy ownership responsibilities. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Third-Party Occupational Health Provider Oversight: Provide medical oversight and coordination of occupational health service providers (mostly third-party) supporting EMEA manufacturing sites and offices, and recommend required changes to K-C OH Team. Review provider clinical outputs, reporting quality, and service delivery to ensure alignment with Occupational Health Performance Standards and applicable regulatory requirements. Act as the primary regional medical escalation point for complex or non-routine issues involving external providers. 2. Occupational Health Case Management & Medical Review: Oversee and support K-C OH team with occupational health case management, including complex or sensitive cases. Provide medical input into injury and illness classification in alignment with the Enterprise EHS Events Reporting requirements and applicable regulatory requirements. In consultation with K-C OH Team, review treatment pathways and appropriateness of externally prescribed care, referrals, and return-to-work recommendations where required. 3. Medical Surveillance & Health Monitoring: Review and interpret medical surveillance and health monitoring reports (e.g., audiometry, spirometry, biological monitoring) to inform K-C OH Team decision-making. Identify trends, abnormalities, or emerging occupational health risks and provide clear medical recommendations to sites and regional stakeholders. Support appropriate follow-up actions where monitoring results indicate potential health risk. 4. Data Integrity & System Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliation between site occupational health records (e.g., Cority and local provider systems) and the EHS Events Reporting System. Identify discrepancies, data quality issues, or classification inconsistencies and support resolution with sites and providers. Promote consistent application of medical definitions, case documentation, and reporting standards across sites. 5. Occupational Health Standards Implementation Support: In consultation with K-C OH Team, support manufacturing sites with implementation and ongoing application of required Occupational Health Performance Standards, including: Medical surveillance Fitness for work Medical emergency response Infectious disease management Medical records management Provide medical clarification and guidance to sites and regional OHS leadership as needed. 6. Medical Emergency Preparedness: Review site Medical Emergency Response Plans to ensure adequacy relative to site-specific risk assessments. Provide medical guidance to ensure plans align with client requirements and applicable local regulatory expectations. Key Interfaces: Site EHS and Occupational Health contacts Third-party Occupational Health service providers Regional EHS leadership Enterprise Occupational Health leadership Qualifications & Experience: Required: Medical degree with formal training or certification in Occupational Medicine (or equivalent). Licensed to practice medicine in and understanding of OH regulatory requirements of at least one applicable jurisdiction. Experience overseeing occupational health services in industrial or manufacturing environments. Demonstrated experience working with third-party OH providers across multiple sites or countries. Strong understanding of OH surveillance, fitness-for-work assessments, and medical emergency response in manufacturing settings. Minimum of 5 years of experience (candidates closer to 10 years are strongly preferred). Preferred: Experience supporting multi-country or regional occupational health programs. Familiarity with enterprise OH and EHS data systems (e.g., Cority or equivalent). Experience supporting injury and illness classification within an EHS governance framework. Knowledge of regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
